Bell should have stayed 5, those who think they know keep banging on about him batting higher up, but he scores runs at 5, he's one of the best in the world at 5, it's a totally different role. Be like playing Baines up front just because he's ace.

Have you seen some of his shots this series? Not joking mate, I wasn't playing those kind of shots playing for me club team. Doesn't matter for me where he bats, no good player plays those shots.

He opens the face far too much for these aussie pitches, but whether one of the best in the world or not, Longy is right about him being better suited to five, I suspect the management knew that to be fair, which is why they moved root to three first

One series doesn't make a player, only 4 months ago he won the Ashes nearly single handedly.

A lot of team's best players bat at 5, I'm thinking Clarke, Chanderpaul, McCullum, AB De Villiers, Bell should be treated the same.

seeing the headline I expected it to be Cook they had to talk down!

once again sport is put into perspective. well done prior and broad.

England lost the 2006/7 series here 5-0, but they really weren't that bad and won the next three Ashes series.

This was entirely different. Beaten 5-0 and were hopeless in every match.

It'll be interesting to see how both of these sides go from now on. Starting with Australia in South Africa next month.
