They really showed how to fight in adversity when the pressure is on and not collapse like a house of cards in a hurricane...Beg to differ. Australia is average. You’d be up 1 or 2 nil were it played in England. Australia’s batting is brittle.gutless beauts, the aussies are not significantly more talented, but their cricket team has a better attitude, they don't take their foot off the gas when on top
I'd agree the home side wins between the two, but I would still say we (england) are more mentally fragile, the only time we have played well is when the pressure was off and looked like the game was lost. Not sure how it can be solved, maybe play buttler and take the gloves off bairstow to bat five, it's a real shame james taylor isn't available, he would be a shoe in. In the long term, we need to stop ostracizing any player that is of the slightest maverick nature, and sack that fat tory strauss, though at least that job keeps him out of the commentary boxBeg to differ. Home conditions is what seperates these two average at best teams. Australia has a better bowling lineup as well that knows how to bowl here.
It's always the players who aren't in the squad who are amazing.I'd agree the home side wins between the two, but I would still say we (england) are more mentally fragile, the only time we have played well is when the pressure was off and looked like the game was lost. that's actually the opposite point I'm making, there aren't many options outside the squad that make you think they could change this, apart from stokes obviouslyIt's always the players who aren't in the squad who are amazing.
That wasn't a prediction. It was just an aussie gobbing off as they like to do. They've been going to win in England every time for ages but have lost the last 5 series. If he has ever said that they will win 3-1 then I apologise in advance.Root was the key wicket. When he went all hope was lost. Have we strong enough characters to stand up to them? It appears not. What confidence and belief we built up in the last day and a half was evaporated in a single session. Maybe Glenn mcgraths prediction will come true.
