I remember watching the day/night test between NZL and Australia in Adelaide a season or two ago and the ball seamed and swung like anything after dusk. It will probably be the most England-like conditions Anderson, Broad and rest of the English seamers will enjoy on the tour.

Sounds like the plan is for him to play for Canterbury in a one-day game against Otago on Sunday. Canterbury want to sign him for the duration of our local 20/20 and one-day league this summer. I imagine if he gets the all-clear, he could be called into the England squad as early as the Perth test (3rd test match).
Stokes was born in Christchurch and his Mum and Dad still live here, so he gets family time as well as an opportunity to get match-fit just in case he gets the call to go to Aussie.

Moeen Ali might not be fit to bowl due to an injured finger but will play as a batsman. Possibility of debut for leg spinner Mason Crane. He's only 20, better make sure he's properly evacuated his bowels.

I hope I'm wrong but I predict carnage if Mason Crane plays. In fact I would be tempted to play an extra seamer given that it is a day/night test which will give our seam bowlers the best bowling conditions of the Tour.

I agree, they say that Moeen could be fit to bowl later on in the match. There's always Root if push comes to shove.
This test decides the series for me. Depending on the result, it could be a tight series or a thumping afterwards.
