My wife is American and people wonder why she moved away never to live there again.

There are no words for anyone that does not think this is insane. Was watching Jordan Klepper at a gun fair in America and there were people standing outside selling rifles, and such, outside to anybody who had the money. There were comments 'well, if they looked dodgy' I wouldn't sell'. NRA speeches talking about arming 2 year olds and being proud of this.

It is the definition of insanity.

Because they only consume right wing media, and have for 30+ years. This is the logical endgame of all that hatred being spewed to them day in day out for that long of a time period. They live in fear every day that someone is coming for them, that crime is rampant all over the place, and they need to protect themselves.

Unfortunately crime is rising though, shootings in cities increasing, and some crime either being accepted or even supported by the authorities. Riots can take place, defund the police protests that turn into riots and the authorities look the other way. What sensible person would honestly want to live in Chicago or even New York. You may be right that the media is frightening people unnecessarily but once authorities allow crime to become part of the norm the downward spiral will continue, people will arm and then look after themselves. It’s incredibly sad……

But the right wing media makes those people believe the gang wars are coming to their front door
