My company head office is in Hungerford. I've stayed in the bear hotel which I believe was the command post for the police that day and I've played cricket on the common. I've had more than one or two chills down my spine as suddenly you think about what went on there.

There were a number of helicopters about at around 6. Not usual given the nearby military bases and large hospital so didn't think too much of it then a friend texted me about hearing gunshots and people everywhere just kinda stopped and started phoning each other to make sure they weren't in the area. Its not a wealthy area but not a particularly rough part of town, either. It's firmly a residential area, though not that far from Argyle's stadium.
There was a lot of confusion initially because around the same time, the big mall in the city centre was evacuated so people's imaginations were running wild, but it seems that was fully unrelated.
Looking at some witness stories on the big news sites, it sounds brutal and started personal but its thought the guy, after killing his first targets, just started shooting at random people. Saw one FB post saying a young girl <10 was among those shot. Horrific.
