Doesnt the Queen technically own pretty much all the land?

Sure I read that once.
The crown own all mineral rights on land no matter If they own it or not, oil , gas ect , it gets taken out on licence from them, the owner would get compo but couldnt stop them taking it, you will see it in action soon in the fracking debate

But you can have varying degrees of hard work and effort. so if someone puts in little hard work and little effort they should be rewarded? How?

Why should working people pay no matter what their income level for many to just sit at home and do sweet FA, bit like shameless if you like?

This concept of a 'Shameless' society was created by the very process that enables the disparity, it was an important Darwinistic component of Friedmanomics, part of society was and is expendable. These very people live in the same consumer driven world as you or I, have the same compulsion to have to participate in that society but are blocked so that otherz can maintain their standing.

Where once there was conservative with a small c, then globalism shifted the mentality to the right, the small independent, hard working 'entrepreneur', of which my father was one, became surplus to the methodology and have been ignored ever since by both parties. They were replaced with a mindset of dog eat dog in business, the competition wasn't to keep prices in check, it was to feed the behemoth that is consumerism, immoral, untethered and the pay off was a large chunk of the population.

Why should working people pay for the gambling habits of business? Why should opportunity be denied to a layer of society ill placed to better themselves? Do you know the comparisons of white and blue collar crimes and how much is afforded to reeling them in respectively?

It is indicative of the success of immoral business that a scapegoat is easily found amongst its own. That it is used to justify the gluttony that feeds off them is quite poor as an argument or defence of that very mindset

This in my eyes is the greatest inequality of all. The fact that for a segment of society there is a minimal chance that they can better themselves by any meaningful degree. There are of course exceptions, and for us not in this segment we can easily point to ways that "they" can help themselves. The reality is of course very different.

Avoidance is use of legal loophole schemes, evasion is illegal non payments.

I thought you would mention those, which are headline cases but no newer ones, notice did not mention Nissan. What would you like, people to stop buying Nissan to teach the company a lesson? Nissan produces about 500,000 cars a year which is more than the totla number produced inItaly! Majoirty is exported. Unfortunately until the law is change not much can be done on avoidance, immoral but not illegal. I suggested ways in my post to tackle this.

Unfortunately mate, no society in what ever country is equal and never will be. There will always be people at the top and people at the bottom, no matter what happens. Legislation can be introduced to remedy this to some extent but not to be totally equal, no society can be equal!

No, I'd like them to pay the tax that they should. It doesn't matter if they are headline cases, they are billion pound companies avoiding tax purposefully.

Of course no society can be equal but is that a reason to punish the worse off?

Bit of perspective needed though surely? Healthcare is still 'free' to all. Education is still 'free' to all. Policing and security is still free to all. Things like medicine and housing are often free to those who need it, as is transport in many instances.

If those on benefits are getting a bit less than they were before then sure, but lets not forget that British society still gives the worse off an incredible amount of support to get back on their feet. It's a level of support that would not only have been unheard of a generation ago in the UK, but is still unheard of in many countries around the world.

In the lottery of life, being born British aint a bad ticket to have been given.

Tell that to all of those who have had been sanctioned through withdrawal of benefits. Tell that to the 45+ who have died as a direct result to benefit sanctions since 2012.

Thats not quite the point Im making Bruce what I am trying to say is that austerity measures are aimed at the poorest
percent of our society,so they are getting hit hardest, and are going to get hit again and again
