'THANKS' ?

Reidy's Bottle Of Grecian

The Unobstructed View
So Yesterday at Anfield, LFC decided that they would thank the Supporters of Everton for their unconditional and continued support in the Hillsborough Justice Campaign. Except they did it in a way that basically had them holding a card in 1 hand and raising a middle finger with the other.

The World will have no doubt read about how Evertonians have offered FROM DAY 1 their wholehearted and unconditional support in the campaign for Justice For The 96 and in mourning those innocent people that so tragically lost their lives. Everything that EFC and it's supporters have done has been widely known and has been done UNCONDITIONALLY, prompting people to say that the Club and Supporters have acted with a Class that is above recognition.

So, as way of saying Thank You LFC decided that they would do a Card Thing on the Kop, to Thank EFC and all of it's Supporters for their continuing support. However, some hair brained fool had the great idea of "Tell You What, as a SPECIAL Thank You, Lets Sing Them Our Song, THEY'LL LOVE THAT if every one of us joins in, if you are close to them then face them with big daft grins on your faces and sing it AT THEM as opposed to TO THEM."

When there was a pic of the cards on the seats the other night I was tempted to post that I wouldn't be surprised if 'They Have a Flip' THEY DID..... the musical accompaniment. You do not Thank Everton with THAT SONG in fact by including it it turned the message into " Thanks..... Now Go F*** Yourselves."

Which is exactly what prompted the Evertonians Reaction of Booing, 2 & 1 Fingered Salutes, Turning our Backs on them etc etc. I would like to read that the Directors... sorry Guardians of our Club, walked out of the Directors Box in disgust, the Football World saying to them that they really are a Shameless Bunch of Morons for 'Thanking' us in that way. What we are waking up to though is continuing accusations from the supporters of Liverpool Football Club that we sang offensive songs about Hillsborough, this is the umpteenth year that such accusations have been made yet not 1 of them has been outraged enough to record it and put it out there to end this myth, apparently they are all so disgusted that they cant bring themselves to film it, although I'm fairly certain that some of their friends in the media would have if it were the case ? There were 2 cameras close to me, a static one and a 'mobile' one I'm sure they would've grabbed the footage if it were true.

Something that is enflaming the situation is that some of the more media prominent ex players/ supporters, and in particular ONE OF THEM has come out and said that "I had heard that this happens but yesterday I was sat close to them and couldn't believe it that they were singing offensive songs about Hillsborough."

This is an ex player that tbh didn't play for them for that long in comparison to others, but because he has the accent and quite frankly RIDICULOUS views on anything & everything to do with them he manages to get himself on the telly and in the papers as some kind of Expert and Moral Spokesman on all things Liverpool, otherwise he'd just have been forgotten by them 'Rushies Replacement, looked a bit like him but shipped out as soon as Concorde wanted to return.'

I think it's quite fair to say that John 'sound as a pound' Aldridge has in the last 24 hrs made both Libelous and Slanderous Accusations against the Supporters of Everton Football Club, the irony of what he has done will be so far over his head tbh that the International Space Station is having to alter it's course to avoid crashing into it......

Do A Thank You & Play That Durge
Everton Fans react in a way that they were bound to.
Aldridge decides to come out and call us allsorts, no acknowledgement that YNWA wasn't the best idea, claiming the songs to be about Hillsborough and thereby turning themselves into victims.

It has been said and been said again that LFC is a Shameless Organisation that considers itself beyond reproach, and this morning they and their media machine are attempting to pile everything onto Everton and it's Supporters.
John 'Thick as a Brick' Aldo will be no doubt dining from Breck Rd Takeaways as he hangs around with the Kop in the Background hoping to get his mug on telly spouting his outrageous bilge as per usual.

The media will of course lap it all up and wag fingers at us tutting.

When in reality they should be pointing out that the 'Tribute' was anything but that and LFC should be apologising for the error of their misjudgement.

However, despite anything that they say about us Evertonians will still support the campaign for Justice.

JFT96 then finally they can Rest In Peace.

the thanks thing was fine, but i agree singing YNWA was a bit odd, thought they could played he aint heavy again, oh well.they just arent as good as us at this kind of thing

Yeah must say thought the thanks thing was a great thing but as you say as soon as YNWA came on I thought..."oh that's odd" there hardly making it easy to join in.

He ain't heavy would of been perfect for the occassion.

Fantastic post Reidy.

That 'Thank You' was a complete piss take. Bottom line: they give more thought and effort to celebrate a confirmed racist than they did a body of supporters who have stood shoulder to shoulder with the families of the 96.

That just about sums many of the bastards up. Only that lot could turn a solemn moment of 'gratitude' into a calculated insult and kick in the teeth. No wonder United hate the tvvats.

Taking a moment that should have been heartwarming & turning it into one of spite takes some doing, but they managed it with aplomb yesterday - sort of sums them up tbh.

As for Aldridge, he really does deserve a smack in the grid for those comments, the man is a sorry excuse for a human being, bitterness personified.

Spot on mate...whoever thought it through for them was either purposely taking the piss or just had no grasp of the situation.

As for aldridge, has there ever been a bigger **** to walk the planet...he absolutely epitomizes everything i dislike about liverpool football club.

It's a calculated insult to play that ****ing dirge as thanks to Blues. That DJ years ago knew what to do when that song came on.

Thanks for writing that Reidy. You are spot on of course.

I've been very near giving up on GOT recently but this is awesome. It's good to know sense can still prevail.

Well in mate.

He claims to have been sat close to us yesterday ?

If that was the case then he shouldve made it known to us as an act of sacrifice, cos if he'd been spotted then everything would've been aimed at him.
He missed a Gilt Edged(hope you all have your IronyBlocks on) Opportunity really to become 'The Anfield Martyr.'

Real top post that mate and sums my feelings up completely. LFC lack the class and common sense that EFC have in these situations. I can't tell you how fed up I am of getting accusations thrown at us by Kopites that we are singing offensive songs about Hillsborough, it's like they want us to, so they can show everyone how horrible those bitter bastards are. In reality they will finish below us in the league two seasons running and in the class stakes two seasons running and they are the bitter ones now.
