That'll be the first and last time a Wimbledon crowd and the BBC will be cheering on a Muslim to victory....THAT's how much they wanted Rybakina defeated. They know what this really means despite the 'Kazakstan' victory.

I think she's a great player and personality. Nothing against her. I didn't care who won, tbh. I just know this win for Rybakina will stick in the throats of the BBC and the All England Club.

I think that was a lot to do with the subdued reaction of the crowd to her win.

Well, it was a good match despite the alleged mysterious undercurrents. Talking of undercurrents there could be some tidal waves and whirlpools tomorrow!

It's been a great Wimbledon apart from Rafael's injury. I didn't write Rafael by the way. What is going on? Undercurrents?

The British media mocking the Russians for claiming victory in the Women's final when one of there born and bred citizens wins the trophy.
These are the same people cheering on a fella born in South Africa and only lived here a hand full of years as the new great British hope.

As a sporting contest it was wonderful to see her come back to win. The nerves in the opening set was there for all to see. It's been the only game I'd watched this tournament and I was wondering how she got to the final tbh.
Sport being what it is, I was mighty impressed watching her dig deep to banish her fears , play her shots and watch her confidence restored. By the third set she was in full swing. the way she won her serve from 0 - 40 , so brave and impressive, reminded me of our game against Palace.
I suspect when she won , she possibly went into a little bit of shock as to what she'd done.
I'm not into the debate on her being allowed to play, the powers to be decided she was, and that was good enough for me.
