If we go on results this season compared to last it goes as follow

This year Last year
Spurs 1-1 1-1
West Brom 2-1 3-2
Stoke 1-0 3-4
Sunderland 3-0 0-2
Boro (Norwich) 3-1 3-0
Bournemouth 0-1 3-3
Palace 1-1 1-1
City 1-1 0-0
Burnley (Newcastle) 1-2 1-0
West Ham 2-0 2-3

18 Points 13 Points

Shows an improvement from last year, last year results from the same fixtures equalled to 1.3 points a game. Multiply that by 38 games is 49.4 points (we finished last year on 47 points, so give or take a point its pretty consistant.

This year from these 10 fixtures we average 1.8 points a game which brings us to 68 points (give or take a point, for negativitys sake lets say 64 points) 64 points in last seasons table would of got us 6th and 68 points last season would of got us 4th.

None of this actually means anything but it pretty much says points wise we are going in the right direction

Should have been out of sight against Spurs and should have took 3 points at Burnley...it will even itself out over the season.
But 10 games in he have a healthy return.
Out of sight against Spurs?! I can only remember us having one chance, when Deulofeu got on the end of a back pass. Even the goal we scored was an accident. It was a really good battling point, but we were very much hanging on for the last half hour.

Really unimpressed with Cleverly recently; high work rate, but seems to be always a step behind making the correct play both in attack and defense. I'm glad to be disabused of this opinion if I'm wrong.

I thought he was alright when he first started a few games but these days I just don't see what he does well enough to get into the team. People were saying we needed him on the wings to give Oviedo support when we played Palace but he didn't offer Oviedo much protection at all.

He's never in a proper position out wide and he can't take anyone on, in the middle the game just passes him by and he doesn't do enough on the ball to justify a starting place. He's an utterly nothing player for me.

He's like a younger Osman but without the same goal threat. Osman was a very good servant for us over the years at the level we were but if we are to move on to the next level he would be no more than a bit part squad player. Cleverly isn't even good enough for that I'm afraid. He'll play this week against Chelsea but I just don't see him affecting the game in a positive way. He'll be ball chasing.

We need 4/5 players to improve our starting 11, and the players they replace in the starting 11 will then become squad players, effectively making the likes of Cleverly surplus to requirements and offloaded.

Ten games in, always a good judging point and we are 6th. For me performances haven't been as good as they could be but we are still 6th. Still a lot of improving to do and we are a couple of injuries away from a nightmare. January must see the squad reinforced.
