Chelsea fans hated him before he joined them because of the Liverpool connection, nothing to do with how he performed there. He got the club back where they needed to be and their fans view had largely softened when he went back there with Newcastle.

Napoli fans 100% do not hate him.

Valencia, Liverpool and Newcastle fans love him.

Funny that as a while ago I spoke to a respected broad sheet sports journalist who is a neighbour of mine ( @Connor knows who he is ) who said and I quote - “he’s a power mad ego maniac, who surrounds himself with “ yes men “ and tries to take over the club from within “ - he met his match with Ashley

Benitez had him threatened over printing the same ( never proved ) but why would two large fellas approach him and warn him about printing anything further )

I’d believe him over a few lads in a pub.

Same fella laid out to me how Allardyce was going to be sacked - right down to the tee

Behind the scenes Benitez was causing murder at Liverpool . The club were hardly going to make that public.

He uses the press and the fans to put pressure on the fans to get the owners to cave in. He did it all the time with Newcastle - constant hissy fits, threatening to leave all the time if he didn’t get backing. Ashley didn’t give a flying one.

Like I said, I believe my neighbour over any footy fan, as he’s one of the top footy journos in the country.

As is your right. I’d believe a collective of Football fans and my own perception over most journo’s who generally have an agenda to push and naturally exaggerate the minor details to sensationalise any story.

When you have a 24/7 news show, you gotta make stuff up... Looking at the bookies odds over the past 5 days, they and the entire media are basically guessing...
Guaranteed the beauts running our club don't know who they want next, they would have kept Silva till the summer had we stayed above the relegation zone...

The Pereira link made no sense, all articles linking him also speculated that he was about to be offered between 25-30m a year in China... So why the hell would he turn that down for 3m a year with us?...

Totally agree, it's largely to do with Sky bet, nobody in the media has a scooby who we are after. The club doesn't have a scooby. They are just sounding people out to see if they are available.
