Team Selection

I honestly don't know. Pickford and Niasse would be the only constants. I'd have Coleman and Barkley as well if they weren't injured.

Besic is overrated. I don't care how passionate he is, he's an injury magnet.

Looks good but i'd probably throw in an extra centre midfielder like Davies and just play with Niasse up front. That is along the right lines though. Vlasic and Lookman should be starting as they will actually carry the ball forward with pace which will put the opposition on the back foot. We never do it though. They'd rather justify the £45m spent on Sigurdsson by having him in the team, and then playing him out of position where he offers almost nothing in every single game and allows teams to exploit us down the wing and launch wave after wave of attack against our extremely fragile defence.

I worry that the insistence on playing Rooney and Siggy might get us relegated. Siggy is great at set pieces but we haven't got many players who are good at attacking crosses. Mori is probably the best at it.

Rooney cripples our play by continuing to drop deep, making us lose out shape and attacking threat.

..I don’t think it matters, all the combinations have failed. Something is very wrong, you only had to look at the body language with Unsworth, Ferguson and Ebbrell on the bench yesterday. You only have to consider Royle coming down from the stands totally undermining Unsworths authority.

Unsworth and Ferguson apparently at odds. Royle and Walsh apparently at odds. Moshiri and Kenwright apparently at odds.

EVERYONE JUST FIGHT...

its the only solution, the only problem is Dunc will be the last one standing hahahaha.

Wouldn't surprise me if Dunc and Unsy where fighting, watching the bench yesterday was one of the most awkward things I have ever seen.

Ill be honest I am struggling to even pick a team... right now its pretty pathetic I can't pick a defence, the centre mid situation should be easy, but its not - Schniederlin needs binning and can't play Davis next to Gueye unless he is on a leash, the attackers are nearly impossible to pick because non, not one is in any form of any kind.

so in conclusion... sack them all and play the birds, they'll do a better job.

Unsworn spoke of playing on the front foot but one thing I have noticed about our play is our defenders are playing on the 18 yd line because they fear teams playing behind them. This is creating a huge gap between defence and attack and teams are pressing our back four so we are losing possession before we even get beyond the half way line. We must defend higher up the pitch and start involving our midfield. The likes of Jags and Williams are hiding. They need to step up the field 20 yards and make the pitch smaller win our battles and give our attackers the chance to attack and have a go at the opposition. I think the best form of defence currently is to have a go make the pitch smaller and get our ball players on the ball. We've got a good squad. How many times did Calvert Lewin try to win a nothing ball in our centre circle 50 yds from their goal and they would pick the ball and play it up to the 18yd box without so much of a challenge. Let's get in teams faces make the pitch smaller and take some risk because what is happening at the moment is nothing short of pathetic.

He's dropping so deep because the defence a virtually playing on our own 6yd box.

He doesn't seem to realise he is part of the problem though, through dropping deep we lose possession easily as we have no one up front, putting more pressure on the defence.

I think Rooney drops deep as he gets frustrated not having the pace he used to. You can still be effective up front without pace you just need to drop off the defender to find space instead of trying to run past them.
