Worth bothering even trying, booking in advance?

Friends need to get from Wirral to Liverpool and it looks like all designated drivers will be designated drinkers this year.

Haven't had to bother with transport on the big day for a few years so wondered what's the sitch these days.
Nah - you’ll get one easy, drivers love a fare that day.

Liverpool to the Wirral .... can't you swim it? I've heard you can walk it on a spring low tide ... check yer tide tables.

Should be OK. Everton have organised one for Dyche in January

Probably easier now than ever with USER. Not all religions are Christian these days, so I dont see a problem as there are plenty not celebrating Xmas. Double bubble on the fare also helps

Check out the Echos taxi fare guide for xmas

…I think there’s something called Uber you might want to look into. From what I’m told many of their drivers don’t celebrate Christmas and work over the holiday.

Many years ago we were on a coach trip to Cheltenham races but the bus got caught in traffic and was really late so we got off and walked along the hard shoulder. Found ourselves on Walsall slip Road, hailed a cab and told the driver to take us to a boozer with a betting shop nearby. Driver stayed with us all afternoon and we negotiated a fare back home.

It’s all negotiable ;)
