I backed Rashid to take 3 wickets and was panicking a bit there though !
This Probably isn’t the thread for it and just like Quinton you’re absolutely entitled to hold your view . I think though it also has to be seen through the lens that he’s a white Afrikaans South African in a country that still carries the scars of decades of apartheid. I’m sure We disagree on the gesture as a whole but the context and how it’s viewed or likely viewed by the vast majority of that countries population and why is also a factor to be considered. The personal reasons are because he won't take a knee and the SA board Saif all players must.
Good on him
I'd also like to add that CSA is the most racist board in sport. They have filled all their top positions with black people, have passed numerous laws all at the expense of white South Africans. And they expect their players to take a knee? This Probably isn’t the thread for it and just like Quinton you’re absolutely entitled to hold your view . The bloke has made his decision and across the sporting world and certainly his own country it’ll almost certainly impact on his legacy . You’ll support him and I imagine you’re not alone , I’d also think the majority of his fellow SA might well disagree.
How many top positions are occupied by black people in the ECB ? I'd hazard a guess, not many. Yorkshire still haven't released the unredacted report on the racism suffered by Azeem Rafiq. No non white umpires appointed in 11 years. Squeaky clean is English cricket.I'd also like to add that CSA is the most racist board in sport. Laughable.
