T20 World Cup

Well done Australia who's captain Aaron Finch can count himself unlucky not to be named man of the match. Finch made the call at the toss and thus it was he more than anyone that struck the decisive blow.

This world cup won't be remembered as vintage as the toss was just too important, in fact change that to match winning. The interviewer at the toss could almost have asked the winning captain (of the toss) 'what do you want to do?' for which the captain could have two accurate and synonymous replies.....

"We've decided we'll win the game" or "we've decided we'll have a bowl"

Either reply would do as they meant the same thing.

At least New Zealand scored a few runs similar to England in their semi and s side scoring runs batting first does have the toss as powerful mitigation against losing.

(Sides who made paltry totals under 140 can't begin to blame the toss and that's a crucial difference in some of the games. Don't make 110 and blame the toss as it makes you look ridiculous.)

David Warner rightly the man of the tournament, a pity our 'David Warner'-like player Jason Roy's injury possibly put an end to our journey in this competition.

Pity the toss has such an impact.
It does normally but yesterday was different. The usual humidity in the late evening in Dubai didn't materialize. Thus not as much help to the side batting second as it was in previous games.

For me it was New Zealand once more capitulating to the old enemy in a big game. NZ got a decent total to defend, thanks only to a captains innings from Henderson, but their bowlers simply weren't up to the task of containing the rampant Aussies when they got on a roll. They just swatted the Kiwis into another failure at the top table.
