As for his politics, Dyche surprised me in naming Margaret Thatcher in his “six-a-side team to save the world”.

“When I was growing up, she was just such a big figure, doing so much, never off the news and I thought my God, that is some woman, in the world as it was then, you must have something special to be doing that job the way you do it.”
Perfect manager for Burnley! I can't get my head around a place where people think "I know who understands the working person, Boris Johnson".

There’s some weird nerd on another forum I read who is very right wing, hates scousers and yet supports LFC passionately. Says he only cares about the football club, not the city.

It’s very odd

Doesn’t say he votes for tories. Can’t argue she was powerful

People support politics like football teams. Left and right.
Centre ground seems to most sensible place. Just not well represented in a two party system.
Socialism is fantastic on paper, it involves everyone working hard for everyone to progress. Fact is that a large proportion of the population would likely do as little as possible. Capitalism does reward hard work and innovation… it also has a lot of problems but I have yet to see a better workable suggestion.
This is not a socialist club, it owned by billionaires and supported by fans calling for increased spending on millionaire football clubs.
If you are a true socialist you couldn’t possibly support what football has become.
Left of centre ground yes, social democratic yes… socialist - doubt it… mocking the stop oil guy and welcoming in uncle uz with a questionable reputation… most people manage to partition there sports from their morals.

That’s what you’d like, but Sir Philip carter, apart from being our last successful chairman was chair of the Liverpool Conservative Association.

I’m not a Tory by any stretch, but they walk amongst us. And it’s nonsence calling us a socialist club
They should be called out as such. Like Dyche.

Fact is that this not and has never been a socialist club. The club was owned by millionaires and reveled in our riches throughout the last crntury.
People talk of Liverpool being socialist, there is no main stream
Socialist political party in city, the history of the city was built on the slave trade. The club refused black players until the 90s. Welcomed questionable owners.
It’s tricky for us to take the moral high grand on anything.
I guess that people think not voting Tory makes them socialist.

Fans attach their allegiance to their club long before they even know what politics is… by the time they do it’s too late.
