Super Kevin Campbell appreciation thread

Loved Super Kev, one of those players I wish we could have gotten hold of a few years earlier than we did. Powerful striker with a nice touch and an eye for goal. Will never be forgotten for pretty much single-handedly saving us from the drop. For that alone, I will always be truly thankful.

An Everton legend in every sense of the word and, with the loss of Lukaku, exactly the type of striker we need right now. Would be good to see him around the club - a player who "got" us, and the club ;)

Single handily got rid of the reputation that we had at the time, that we were a racist club, with racist fans.

Paved the way for all the black players we've had since then.

He moved us forward by years in this respect.

Possibly one of the most important players to play for us a result of this.

One of my favourite Everton players of all time.

Got a lot of love for Super Kev.

Wish we'd got him earlier, him and Jeffers were dynamite for a season.

At the Middlesbrough game at Goodison that we lost 0-1 in the cup, Super Kev shouted at me in the Main Stand and scared the bejesus out of me. I went to get him to sign my programme and had no idea he was being interviewed on live radio. He waved a hand to dismiss me then shouted at me after.

Unbelievably I did the same to Graeme Sharp years later but he just waved me off and gave me a dirty look while on not missing a beat on air.

Me and our number 9s go way back

Whether you think that twitter account (verified) is his or not, and I'm told it is actually him which makes his all the more great, he is always nice about Everton and perhaps is slightly forgotten as the front man at a time of huge change for Everton as Moyes entered the fray and at least made us slightly competitive again.

I've asked my brother, who sees him almost every day where he works in Manchester, to confirm if that is his Twitter handle. Will let you all know if it is.

Edit: Just had the following message - "It is him. 100%"
