mccarthy has been utterly phenomenal.

sadly the ref has played right into their hands with his stop start approach - even if the blind sunderland fans boo him because he's giving them nothing. it helps them that the game is broken up, hence why their team was kicking anything that moved for the first 15.

delafeou has been so dissapointing. i know he's young and learning, but he makes the wrong decision so many times. maybe it will come with age, but his decision making is below what it should be of someone his age and ability.

naismith has been fairly poor as well, should have rolled that chance home, but he seems to be creating a good understanding with lukaku. baines has been great going forward but looked nervy in defence.

subs will win this, get the first goal and they'll crack.

right, not arsed what his little fanclub say, osman is a disgrace, bottling tackles on the edge of his own area while he has the armband on, zero workrate, you've got a blind spot bobby, and you got this selection wrong

nonsense with the "little fanclub" comment.

some fans just don't like to completely thrash a player, theres room for objectivity when speaking about all of them.

He has been very poor this game though.

Osman and Naismith off now. Deulofeu off at the hour point if he cant stop being hopeless today.

0-0 at everton, naismith best chance of the game, should score, spanish kid should pass when lukaku free to the right, stones clears off the line, sunderland players fouling a lot and moaning a lot, pretty much sums the 1st half up,everton need to do more

I'd put Barkley on at half time, Osman has been anonymous and we'll benefit from Barkley's running and range of passing which will likely wake up Naismith and Deulofeu. Deulofeu would be the next one to come off for me but I think he should get 10 or 15 minutes in the second half before bringing McGeady on, he'll more likely find the killer pass we need right now than Mirallas who's more one for getting on that killer pass

The cut in was a normal option to use, sometimes it comes off and you get a gap for a shot..sometimes not. Can't knock him for choosing that. The defender just did his job well.

I know what cutting in does, but he had so much space to run at goal and hit it with his left - he would have been 10 yards out .

Not the best of halves (those free kicks......woof). However no reason to panic yet. We are a 2nd half team and we got 3 goal scorers on the bench. Plus if/when we break through they are going to have to open it up.

Mirallas should never have been dropped. Him and Barkley on for Osman and Deulofeu/Naismith.

Very poor half, but almost expected it to be. Need to come out and go for an early goal.

Jeez you guys are hard to please....

One chance put away and it will all be different
Tbf no, I am, personally, beyond done with giving Osman chances and hoping he'd come good.

Those two times he actually did aren't worth the 30-odd given chances for me.

And Del's having a stinker, but at least he's proven that he can actually play this football thing and is actually quite good at it.
