I Know i shouldnt but cant help it, here Sundays best/worst:

EVERTON’S move for Celtic striker Scott McDonald has been put on hold after the club rejected Wigan’s £9million bid for Andy Johnson.

Everton boss David Moyes wants Aussie international McDonald to replace Johnson, but values the former England striker at £10m.

McDonald scored 31 goals last season for the Scottish champions after joining them from Motherwell for £700,000 last summer.

Celtic boss Gordon Strachan could decide to cash in on the 24-year-old striker after completing the signing of Manchester City forward Georgios Samaras.

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is also keeping a close eye on McDonald and could make a move. (News of the World).

Darren Bent is holding out for a move to Everton after snubbing a £10million switch to Sunderland.

Tottenham had agreed a fee with the Black Cats, only for Bent to turn down he transfer following talks with manager Roy Keane.

Everton boss David Moyes and Blackburn's Paul Ince have now expressed an interest - and Bent is said to fancy a move to Goodison.

He gave Sunderland a miss despite a £50,000-aweek wage offer.

Moyes has to off-load Andy Johnson before he can bid for 23-year-old-Bent, but that should not be a problem.

Fulham and Wigan are happy to meet the £10m asking price for AJ. (The People).

Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson is stalling over a signing a new contract, which has alerted Everton, Liverpool and Aston Villa. (Sunday Express)

Premier League duo Everton and Bolton are tracking 18-year-old Tranmere striker Terry Gornell.

Gornell, who has yet to make a first team appearance at Prenton Park, has been tipped for stardom and it would seem has been kept under wraps until the season commences. (News of the World).

I'm not to keen on Michael Johnson. I've spoke to City fans who think he's vastly overrated, he's got a big ego and he's a bit of a party animal. I'm not convinced he's the real deal at all, the media did overrate him alot.

I'd be happy with Darren Bent. He'd be a good signing.

Funny enough apart from the party animal bit thats what spurs fans say about bent

I think a deal for Johnson is a non-starter.

I heard he played the other night for City in the Uefa Qualifier, i think this rules him out for Europe this season, could be wrong though.

Im a confirmed Darren Bent fan, i think hes a top four signing.

The young lad of Tranmere looks a decent skillfull prospect on youtube anyway! Sad i know!

Everton have confirmed they are eyeing the capture of Portugal international Joao Moutinho from Sporting.
In Sunday’s edition of Portuguese paper A Bola, Everton director Keith Wyness confirmed The Toffees’ interest in the midfielder.
Moutinho was man-of-the-match in the opening game of Portugal’s Euro 2008 campaign and, at 21 years of age, is tipped for a huge future.
Everton need a central midfielder following the departure of Lee Carsley to Birmingham, and Wyness confirmed Moutinho is an option.
“The arrival of Joao Moutinho is a big possibility for us,” Wyness was quoted as saying in A Bola.
Sporting value Moutinho at around €20 million (£16 million), but Everton hope they can negotiate that price down with a complex bid based on future achievements.
Chelsea had also been linked with the player, who played under Luiz Felipe Scolari, but chief executive Peter Kenyon confirmed ‘Chelsea are not interested in this player

On the issue of Johnson playing for Everton in Europe, by playing in the qualifier, he won't be able to play for us, particularly as its certain that they will reach the first round proper.

Manny playing for us was within the rules because he previously played in the champs league and their team was no longer involved in uefa competition.

I am still mystified why we didn't get Bent when we got is cuss Marcus. We could have brought him for £3m at the time, and even then he was a really good prospect. I wonder what put Moyes off?

I don't think we had the money for Bent. We only spend 3 million that season and ended up with Cahill and the poor Bent.
