Put this status on 16th March and it turns out were scouting Hoffenheim a lot this season. He would be the type of signing to really help us make that next step, he is class!
Funnily enough yesterday I said if I was Everton manager I'd put a £15m bid in for Bony come the summer and the daily star sunday are reporting such a story today.
Journalists must be coming on here for there little snippets?!

Make us more creative, bring us more goals from midfield and take some of the burden off of the striker, he would be a class signing, but there's a lot of interest in him, especially from Dortmund!.

Hmmm, we need to sign another attacking midfielder for me, someone to really challenge Barkley for that spot. Osman as been a good stand in for years and helped us out but he's getting on a bit and one of those players that wont be good enough for us to take us to that next level where Martinez wants to take us.
To be perfectly honest, in the next 2-3 years we need a good young CB to take over Distin, maybe Martins-Indi and let Distin take him under his wing next year and groom him for his position. We already have Stones ready to step in and replace Jags in the future.
We need a bit more quality in CM and ACM for me. Barry would be a good signing for a year or 2 but we need someone younger in there that's good on the ball, maybe Fernando of Porto IF we could entice him to us?. Then Maybe a player like Tadic who is a bit of an all rounder when it comes to the attacking mid spots, or Firmino who's quality, Affelay who weve been linked to of late, Rafinha of Barca?.
A striker is a cert for the summer, can we sort anything out for Lukaku? Highly unlikely. Bony? I wouldn't say no but price could be an issue. Batshuayi? Arsenal are interested and he supports Arsenal so if they were in for him he'd go there no doubt. Volland of Hoffenheim? Very good up and coming German striker. Can play wide aswell but as got bags of potential and is starting to break into the German national side. Finbogasson? Goal machine in Eredivise, could he replicate that in Prem. Soriano of Red Bull Salzburg? I know the Austrian league isn't upto much but this lad as a better record there than Jelavic did! Got a record of something like 50 odd goals in 60 odd appearences and as been banging em in in the Europa League this season, scored a belter against Ajax recently aswell and did a stint at Barca before, could be worth a punt maybe?!.
And finally I think we need to seriously start looking at a No.1 goalie to replace Howard in time as he's knocking on a bit. And im not quite sure Joel is ready to step in yet, needs a couple more years learning from Howard and getting his game right before we consider him to be our main man in goal IMO.

Assuming we sign Barry I'd save all of the money for a striker and an attacking midfielder. Howard is fine for another year yet and so is Distin. I'm sure jagielka and stones would do well together anyway and there's always Duffy who seems to be to best defender in the championship at the moment. The way we've been defending set pieces this season you could make a case for him to be in our side already.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has joined the chase for Brazilian star Roberto Firmino – one of the top talents in the Bundesliga, writes Alan Nixon in the Sunday People.
Martinez’s European scout is camped out watching Hoffenheim’s clever South American attacking midfielder.
Firmino, 22, is also being closely monitored by Manchester United and Liverpool.
But the Premier League clubs face competition from Inter Milan.
Martinez is looking for more midfield creation with Gerard Deulofeu set to return to Barcelona in the summer.
Firmino, who has been with Hoffenheim since he was a kid, fits the bill perfectly if the price is right.
Because he has not played for Brazil, he would not automatically get a work permit and may have to sort out German citizenship to move to Britain.
