Potentially. My point was more if we can attract and afford him. Decent player like. It’s a sideways step
Alex Scott signed in 2023. Largely when we were selling the Park End to survive. A lot of these players, e.g. Hill, Kroupi (though less so) have 6-18 months pottering about before a decision is made on 1st team.
Or we panic and throw £30 million at Spurs for Richarlison.I’ll tell you what will happen..
We’ll spend all summer trying to offload Barry, probably end up loaning him back to Spain.
In the meantime we’ll chase Delap for months, only for him to stay at Chelsea. We’ll then move on to, and eventually sign, Zirkzee.
Yes, that's obviously what I meant because I'm that stupid.Sorry what? Penalties don't count as goals?
It's hilarious when dumb people don't understand a point and then assume the person making it is dumb. There must be a word for that. Anyway, if you were comparing two strikers who had both scored the same number of goals per minute in a season and one had scored 5 pens from 7 attempts and the other striker doesn't take pens who would you think was the better goal scorer? It's basically why Andy Cole is very underrated and players like Gerrard and Lampard's goal stats are slightly inflated. If you are comparing goal scoring records you should ignore penalties. You do genuinely wonder what goes on, in some peoples heads on here don`t you![]()
I think you might end up being the best option available to him if he wants to leave Palace....but I'd prefer to spend that sort of money on a striker. You think we can get Wharton ?
Wharton is an interesting one and probably the best midfield player we could realistically get.
United and City look set upon Anderson , Guimares and Tonali.
Of course that means that Forest and Newcastle will be looking for a midfielder too but I get the feeling that Wharton isn't a sexy enough name for them.
He would compliment Garner and KDH well.
However , for me , midfield is way down in our list of priorities and if we thinking of lashing £50/60 mill on a player I'd rather it was a top striker
We need both, a top striker is pointless unless we start creating more within games and that includes midfielders with different profiles and skills to what we have now.
15 goals in the championship doesn’t necessarily translate into being able to cut it at PL thoughOr we panic and throw £30 million at Spurs for Richarlison.
They then take that cash and put it towards Samu Aghehowa who slots 15 in his debut season.
Already signed keaneFirst signing will be that poor excuse for a footballer Mykolenko
We'll get none of those three. Not a chance.Wharton is the ideal profile, age, ability and upside potential that we should be after.
The only thing would be what other clubs come in for him, unless due to there being 8+ in demand this summer, he misses the cut.
I'm not sure who the equivalent CF would be so for me i'd prioritise Wharton. We need to build the team before a superstar CF could be attracted.
Same goes for us, theres a few of them available so hopefully we push the boat out, I'd prefer one of Wharton, Scott or Gray.
Need to get to the final first and win it. So theres a chance yeah. Very realistic might be pushing those boundariesThe sad thing is that Nottingham Forest now have a very realistic chance of playing in the Champions League next season, so will probably spend £300m in the summer and outbid us for anybody we are interested in.
