Summer transfer window.

Clear trend in the signings we made last season with the majority being young promising players, and the exceptions being KDH and Grealish who were opportunities that came up for experienced senior pro's.

If we're going to fold on that idea and just let Moyes completely dictate who we sign you have to question what the point was of us of us poaching Nick Cox for example, who's reputation at Utd was built on developing prospects at Carrington. Moyes has spoken about the academy needing to be better and wanting more local boys coming through, but if this season is anything to go by it's hard to see how that happens under Moyes unless we have another Rooney spawn in out if nowhere.

The treatment of Aznou, Dibling, Röhl, Alcaraz, and more recently George has been a constant source of discussion this season. I think it's hard to look past because it's clear that everything that's been put in place at the club has been done so with a different identity in mind to what Moyes is creating.

We're coming off the back of the absolute chaos behind the scenes that was the Moshiri years, the most important thing to me after that was just to see joined up thinking. Regardless of style of play or the age of players targeted or anything like that, I really just want to see people who are willing to work towards the overall vision of the club without the constant power struggles and baffling decisions that resulted during the Moshiri era.

That has always been my biggest issue with Moyes. In some ways it can be a strength as a coach, but his unwillingness to compromise and work in parameters not totally dictated by him risks derailing this rebuild. There was a Boyland article a few months ago that was clear about how we internally viewed ourselves and who we wanted to be, and it was to emulate the kind of model of a Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton - but with a higher budget and ability to hang on to the players that we develop. The one thing that all of those clubs have in common is that they don't give the manager more power than they should have under any circumstances. This is why De Zerbi walked from Brighton.
I agree with nearly everything you say and to add a little more I believe Mr Kenwright gave Moyes the complete running of the club and he expected to return and do the same, until Moyes goes nothing will alter with this club.

I actually like Bowen. I think he'd be great for us ( not going to happen) . Stones on the other hand is absolutely finished ( therefore likely to happen)

…..there’s plenty on here concerned about ‘average age’ so they’ll surely be against either. Bowen is 30 next birthday, he might be a fine player but his age could be more important.

Who, though? I don't see him going to a Chelsea or a Man City. Maybe Spurs if they stay up but are they higher profile now after two horror show league seasons?
Wouldn't be surprised if the likes of
Man U
Arsenal ( as back up to Saka )
Villa ( if they sell McGinn)
Spurs
Newcastle

were all interested in him.

Being concerned about the average age of the squad is fair, but that doesn’t mean we should be turning our noses up at a player like Bowen.
The issue is he’d cost an arm and a leg, won't wanna join and at his age there’d be very little resale value.

If we did somehow sign him it'll have to be in isolation along with a few others with actual sell on value - signing these 'ready made' players (who are mostly just injury prone past its in the case of wilson and stones) is a recipe for ending up in the 💩 in a few years time.

……partly why I was against signing Grealish

I’d be more concerned about his availability. Keane has renewed his deal, I’d be less interested in another CB if it wasn’t for Branthwaite’s hamstrings.
If we sign a full back then O'brien becomes a full time CB, with keane extending i dont see another cb as a sensible allocation of what may be restricted resources
