i honestly don't think Martinez wants another young defender. we already have stones and galloway and Browning are rated very highly. He's looking for an experienced back to bridge the gap between Jag's final seasons and when Galloway is ready.

ESCLUSIVA - Everton, si tratta l'acquisto di Astori
I'm touched by how you are always mentioning me. Bonkers.Does any think that @Adversus posts read like Dizzee Rascal lyrics?
Palace will want more than 8m for Scott Dann by the way.
Defo.Astori is about ten times better than ogbonna
We paid 5 million for Distin 6 years ago.
I'll repeat the last bit, 6 years ago.
That deal paid off in some way but would you pay 15mln pounds for every relegated midfielder because mccarthy turned out to be cracking player ?
Also he was bought to be a starter not as a back up
true but with younger players they're more likely to need game time. Just seems all the defenders we've linked with are 27-30 (ogbonna-27, dann 28, klavan 29, lombaerts 30), seems to be the age group RM is targeting.Well, younger than 28 doesn't mean a teenager mate. 25-years old defender could be experienced as well but also could give a chance for progression. Dann won't be better than already is and he is average. And if we're not willing to cash in on stones he would be a back up guy.
However if he's on low wages then it is understandable move but we don't know the details
Not really fair though. Stones and Coleman weren't ready to walk into the first team when we signed them. That's what scouts are for mate. Jagielka, Baines, Coleman, Stones all cost less than the money being quoted for Dann.
Is it?
Both if them in experience terms similar to Galloway who cost us 4m (or at least will if he reaches potential). Not really fair though. Stones and Coleman weren't ready to walk into the first team when we signed them.
lets use all 3 loans on barca youngsters, maybe some will fall for the club like Del did
