Whoever mate, that's for the manager to decide. But his decision should be based on who is the better player and nothing else. There should be none of this "Oh no, where will Sergio Roberto fit in?" when he has been a young lad getting the odd game for today's superstar filled, European Champions, Barcelona mega-powerhouse of world football. Deulofeu never got that far at Barca, this guy has quite a few games playing CM for Barca! He is only 23 as well, I'd love us to get him.

I rate that Deeney as well, he will probably be too expensive though (for who he is).
I agree but Deulofeu is two years younger. If he stays at Barca he would probably be at Roberto's level in two years.

I also think Deulofeu has more potential.

Plus it's no as simple as simply playing the best player. Clubs like ours have to develop talent and you can't do that without playing them. That means at times we need to play younger players in place of the better ones. I just don't see why we would do that for another team.

Barkley is developing. He had a poor season but this often happens after a breakthrough year. I fully expect him to be better next year but he will need the right players around him. Players like Roberto and Deulofeu would help.

Based on that Youtube video, and the fact that we are going 'toe-to-toe' with a relegated QPR and West Brom for his signature. Sergi Roberto has been a bit-part player at Barcelona, but it doesn't sound like he has disgraced himself at that level, he's been good enough for Barca to have him in and around the bench during their most successful ever period. Barca seem to hold Sergio Roberto in higher regard than Deulofeu, put it that way.
He certainly hasn't the games he's played 90 mins he's had an over 7 rating on whoscored. I think he's pretty close to the finished article for a team at our level. The fact he hasn't played the majority of games from the start at Barca isn't an issue for me. Which one of our players would?

West Ham United are confident their improved offer for the Marseille forward Dimitri Payet will force through the transfer of the France international. The player is understood to be keen to leave the Stade Vélodrome for a new challenge in the Premier League.

The London club’s second offer amounts to around £14m for a player capped 15 times – an initial bid nearer £12m was rejected by Marseille. The French club’s squad are undergoing something of a revamp after failing to qualify for next term’s Champions League; this failure prompted an automatic wage drop for players with Payet due to lose around £12,000 a week.
...
A four-year contract has been offered with terms of around £70,000 a week. The 28-year-old, an £8m signing from Lille in 2013, can operate across the front line as well as in a No10 role and contributed the most assists in Ligue 1 last season. He would join the Spain Under-21 international, Pedro Obiang, at Upton Park following his £4.6m move from Sampdoria. The West Ham board is anxious to demonstrate ambition to the new manager, Slaven Bilic, before the club’s final season at the Boleyn Ground.

Ah well, I'd never heard of him a few weeks ago.

Can easily see him coming and being another one of those French flops a la Cabella, Ben Arfa and the majority of Newcastle's French imports.
