Summer Transfer Window - Credible Rumours Only Please

There's always one club every summer that are apparently going to go miles ahead of us. In the past it was Sunderland, Stoke , QPR, Swansea, Southampton and now West Ham. Funny how none of them have really (league position this one season excepted).

Doesn't matter about the size of your stadium, if you are not in the CL as Liverpool have shown it doesn't matter how much money you have, the top table of players won't look at you.

Ayew just gone to Swansea. Koplonkya to Stoke looks a done deal.

Due to our poor performance off the field these teams will leave us behind eventually. Swansea expanding its Stadium, while we erm........

Anyway, I hope we can beat West Ham to the punch and sign Payet.

That line of thought is very flawed, cos we sold Fellaini for the same amount as we bought Lukaku, so then surely Felli will pay Lukaku and thus leave the "budget" untouched.

Elstone has said in regards to transfers we stage the payments over the length of contracts but regarding sales we aim to get the majority of cash up front.

I will find the comments and link it up.

The thing with all these rumours mate is, even if the original source is right, there are normally another two or three clubs in with a real shout of getting that player so any source that consistently has a one in four hit rate is doing bloody well.

Any possible transfer values from twitter can be taken with a pinch of salt. Same with when something might happen. Barring outgoings, we've probably got a headline budget figure of up to 20 million to play with. Four first teamers in with two or three for cash and one or two loans is probably what we're looking at, plus one or two youngsters to hopefully bring on.
Exactly. I take nothing as given or even really likely until I see a picture of the player wearing an Everton scarf and holding a shirt up.
Papers fill their pages with meaningless fluffy rumours to sell them as well.

It doesnt matter mate, if United gave us the Felli money in full, its in the bank, if they paid us over 4 years, its there when we need it.

Trying my best to avoid the words "net spend".

Think the point of the Lukaku money is that board will have ring-fenced the Lukaku money as needing to go to Chelsea and so cannot be spent, whether or not it has left us or is sitting in our bank is irrelevent. We have ~£28mil less to spend after Lukaku signed than before.

Dann, Deulofeu and Payet and I would be happy.

I'm also a bit disappointed we haven't heard anything about McGeady being sold as I suspect we will need to sell either him or Mirallas first.

Dann - 8m, Deulofeu - 8m and Payet - 10m
McGeady - 4m

Net spend - 22m

That would be a great window.

McGeady isn't going anywhere. Martinez said a while ago how he has loads to offer for us.

Unless he was saying that to get him sold, of course, but that's not likely.

He said the same about Jellavic and Big Vic!

Hardly gonna say he wants rid in public is he. I imagine he's looking to keep McGeady however.

I tend to believe Martinez when he talks like this. There's still a lot of talk about Mirallas going. I do suspect we will only get Del if one leaves which would be a mistake.

That's just good business but ultimately it doesn't change anything. If we spend 28m, we've spent 28m. No amount of crafty accounting changes that.

Although if we have to stretch payments in this way it might have an effect on who we can buy. Eg someone like Payet might be an issue.
