Before anyone says “Championship is his level” how does anyone know? Championship was Joe Parkinson’s level when we picked him up aged 24 from Bournemouth for 250k

Keane as a starter is abysmal but keane as a 4th choice cb is a decent option.

We quite simply dont have the money to spend on trying to entice a new cb to come and sit on the bench, let alone have the money to bring in a starting cb.

But needs must i mean we resigned coleman and hes been done since his leg break if were being honest. Keane is good at what we need him to do, which is be emergency cover that we can dip in for a few games then take him back out when other people are back or need a little rest.

Given Tarkowski's injury he might not be fourth choice and if we don't get a RB, with Coleman's history then he could be a starter before the season is half a dozen games old.

I think if we buy a treadmill for the right wing and one for the left, that'll really zone in on the pace issues.

I get why they would want to extend Keanes contract and focus on other areas of our threadbare squad, but I will never forget the feeling of deflation I felt in Goodison when I saw Keane and Maupay in the starting line-up for the first game of the season V Fulham 23/24 season. It sucked the life out of that game before it even started. I think I still have trauma from it. The risk of him starting V Leeds or even worse in the first home game V Brighton is too high for me......

Yeah I think this is fair enough, if Keane is 4th choice CB then we absolutely need to nail a good right back down.
