Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Talking about players that aren't strikers doing well as number 9s for Moyes.... Arnautovic is out of contract. Must be a better option than Antonio.

Btw.. Been any talk about Tammy Abraham in here? Still under contract with Roma and did nothing on loan for AC Milan last season. If the new Roma coach Gasperini doesn't want him, I can see him coming on loan as an alternative to DCL.
I see this as the most economic approach to solving DCL’s departure. I really want the bulk of our budget to be spent on RW, CM & RB

It's a completely different club mate.

New owners,new management structure,new manager.

To suggest at the start of June that this summer will be like previous once is probably abit out.

People are that mentally scarred by the Kenwright days they think that this is the clubs default setting, when in essence it's not even close.

Plus we’ve already signed someone and we done it before June.

Exactly, but every window it seems that there’s a selection of players linked by the media that we never end up actually getting and people on here go mad about it.

We never did get Lingard
We didn’t get Phillips
We never went for Che Adams
Or Rodriguez from Burnley
Or Charlie Taylor
Or Shane Long

already this summer we’ve had links to Cresswell and Antonio, the only shock is we haven’t been linked to James Ward Prowse again although I’m sure that will pop up at some point.

We hardly ever actually buy these players.

I think Barry’s loan fee at the time was 5 mill which 10 years ago wasn’t inconsiderate but he was a good player in a position we needed. Fans should judge players for what they do in blue before complaining about them before they’ve even kicked a ball for us.
Nonsense. Many examples where fans have been right to do so. Fans correctly had concerns about Danjuma being a waste of time, whilst you shoved ā€˜he’s played in a CL semi-final, what do you know?!’ down their throats.

They will tell you that doesn't count because he was here on loan beforehand.

If no one else has come in by the 2nd second week of July then I'd say that's real cause from concern, and then and only then, have the bedwetters got permission to get their plastic sheet out.

Better than the wages of Sancho and grealish?

Well ndyiaye on the left, and someone on 400k a week on the right wing who is under 24.
We are fans not accountants and it’s not our money, let’s just watch football for a change. Plus there is no way we would spend close to that amount if they joined so who cares.

Let’s just aim to have the best football possible for the money our ST costs

Sorry mate, this smacks of people on here saying "it's not your money, why do you care?" and "I'm pretty sure a billionaire accountant knows more than you" when we were spending ourselves into oblivion under Moshiri and we've only really just recovered.

We've been burned by financial imprudence and I think everyone is right to have an eye on making sure we don't do the same thing again.

It's actually a complete downer having to be aware of these things, but modern rules make it the case that it's important.

If no serious talks/links are mooted by the 3rd week of June it would be weird.

Beto and Abraham as the two main options up front, with Chermitti as 3rd choice. Same as last season

Abraham looks kaput.

Not seen Abraham play this season really at Milan. Obviously his goal scoring record has gone dramatically downhill this year, but are there any extenuating circumstances or has he really just had a poor season?

Always thought he'd be a decent fit for us in the focal point-type striker we tend to like, but I'd have some questions about what's gone on this year.

How do we know serious talks aren't already taking place?

Mate me,you and everyone else on this forum are nothing but bottom feeders.

We're not privy to anything that goes on behind the scenes and we'll get even less leaks and rumours now Moyes is back.

People don't what's going on but persist to come on here and carry on like Veruca Salt.
