Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Well it's not by keeping players on exorbitant wages , sacking a load of staff then signing more players for huge fee's and more exorbitant wages.

Everything that is wrong in football.
I get that. Im just thinking that they are trying anything and everything, even if it means people at the lower end of the wage bill. In some respects I don't agree, but they must be doing this for a reason? They want to be near the top again and earning. There has to be cuts.

A club that size, surely has a lot, if not too many people across the globe on the wage bill

I'm digging a hole for myself here aren't I 😂

I cba even trying to think of what if or whatever. Didn't know about the Mbuembo deal either.

You know, with stuff like this going on, which has been going on for some time now, but it's becoming more and more apparent, even to the not so clued up (like me) about PSR , but who actually understands it. Do you not feel like you are clinging onto something which you cannot get a grip onto?

What will happen in a few years? Do you think some will just simply give up? Knowing its just rigged?

Tbh that's how I'm starting to feel, with City's eight year psr case still ongoing, Man United's debts, redundancies farce and just waiting to sell the thirty year old Fernandes to the Saudi's for a proposed £100m, to make it alright. Then you have Chelsea's shenanigans, selling hotels to themselves, selling their Women's team to themselves. All of these teams stockpiling the best young talent half of them to teams they actually own. How are the rest supposed to compete ? Football for me is in tatters, it's been ruined by the money men. Anyway sorry guys rant over.

Should just spend what we want every other [Poor language removed] does
This would be taking the Notts Forest approach. Yes, they were punished, but it has worked out for them so far.

It should also be acknowledged, however, that they did need to make plenty of signings following promotion given how many players they had on loan or out of contract at the time.

Yes and spend £62.5m the next day as well as another £60m odd the following day on Mbuembo( spelling). Yes that's sound financial decisions can't see anything wrong myself..
No matter who Man United buy or what they spend, they are on a downward trajectory…just throwing money at a problem without realising or acknowledging the main cause of your problem.

We’ve seen that at first hand although on a smaller scale.

No, you aren't ranting. I think this is what most people feel, but it's hard .. very hard to let go. We still cling on knowing all this is going on. I mean, where will it stop or can it ?

Yeah…they got a 4 point punishment but so what every Forest fan will tell you it was 100% worth it.

We get a points deduction and we blew loads of money and ended up worse.

City, United, Chelsea…will never face punishment because they looked the Prem in the eye and went try it! We’ll bury you in legal fees and court costs for years.

We took it…cap in hand ‘sorry guv’nor’ not us the fans but the club sure as hell did.

Until you start thinking big and remember who you are you’ll get walked over!

I’m sick of being toothless as a club, expecting only woe and our best players to be sold.

I only hope TFG have bigger Cahones that the last owners

His nickname is the piv or el pivote from his old twitter handle. Andy McGregor. Used to be on toffee TV occasionally years ago.

He started up a footy recruitment and data analysis company or something like that which has done loads of consultancy work. And now he's Swansea's head scout.

Tbf Ped just quoted something he'd messaged him, a lot of it was football hipster jargon 😂 but I Interpreted it into English as he gets to the byline a lot and creates lots of chances.

I quite liked listening to him on toffeetv.

Fair play to him becoming Swansea's head scout. Very impressive.

Hope we are genuinely in for Matt O’Riley. Stats don’t always tell the whole story but these stats do tell a pretty great story (think these are his 23/24 season stats)

Clearly an outlier in Scotland in terms of quality (the scatterplot is a thing of beauty, as is his Celtic highlight reel) but looks a very tidy, creative and combative midfielder with very quick reactions in his Brighton highlights.

He doesn't look very fast to be fair .

A team that get Europe pretty much every season and have had ONE bad season and still won a European trophy and got CL football, or a team who’ve been fighting relegation for a few years.
Take off the blue specs and it would appeal to most players. Until we manage to prove we can actually finish top 10 no player would choose over Spurs.
Most of our fans are begging Spurs to sell us one of their worst strikers in a long time, that tells us where we are.
'Im not saying we are the answer' was the opening of my comment.

Meaning if he wants to go elsewere, he shouldnt be looking at spurs, he should be looking for consistant CL qualifiers.

Maybe its you that needs to put on those blue tinted specs, or just some normal ones for you to read properly
