Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Sick of this "if he comes to Everton he gets to play every week" Where did this come from? He didnt even play every week for Ipswich.
He plays if he is good enough and scores goals. Same as at Chelsea, Utd, Newcastle.
We need more than one option which has been the case for too long. Moyes knows this and did it with Beto for couple of games, put him back in and he started scoring again.
My fear with Delap is we would go back to playing the way we did with DCL, lump it fwd at the earliest opportunity.
Having said that I would have him all day for 30m and let him battle it out with Beto. Would be 2 good very different options for next season.

we’re have we lumped it under moyes?

so let’s not sign delap as we will lump it upfront lol

Didn’t our own Ndiaye leave Sheff Utd after promotion? About half the Burnley team that came up in 2023 got off as well.
Eas in final year of contract then got sold to france, every player will have a price just means can ask for more becuase of the money

If we are saying we are more likely to sign Sheff United players now then I’d only have Hamer and their GK for backup to Pickford.

Sunderland have players with higher potential I would say having only seen a small number of games for each this year admittedly

Many examples recently mike, as I say.
The increasing gap in quality between the Championship and the PL suggests that promoted teams may to tempted to cash in some of their desirable players in favour of more PL ready players to ensure survival.
Problem is that the purchase price is in excess of comparable players from abroad . Makes those championship players higher risk.

Players out of contract, or of little monetary value, sure. Not many examples I’d say of players coveted for big money who then move after their club gets promoted. Chris Rigg for example, will now be almost impossible to sign unless someone offers significantly more than he’s currently worth. There is absolutely no question, that signing a Sunderland player of any real value, has just become that much harder that it’s probably not even worth pursuing them.

It’s Hamer time!!
