Linked to 22 year old striker Raul Garcia from Real Betis, he has spent this season on loan at CD Miranda in the Spanish 2nd division where he has scored 19 goals. believed to be available for around £9m. He looks like he scores a fair few of his goals from crosses into the box and is capable of setting up goals as well. The defending looks quite loose in the Spanish 2nd division, but he finishes well, youtube highlights clip below and link to the story.

It feels very unlikely that we’re going to unearth a PL quality starting centre forward for 9m from the Spanish league. And any CF we spend money on is likely to have to start plenty given DCL’s issues, maybe he’s a genuine bargain but there’s almost no way we can solve the CF problem in that price range. Just accumulating guys who are OK isn’t going to get us anywhere.

Might unearth one. As in, dig up a long dead hombre 😬

Genuinely wouldn't sign another Spaniard or Portuguese player ever after the Sandro Gomes fiasco... I'd be only signing players from Germany,France,Japan, Brazil and Colombia.

Some of the stuff in here is pure fantasy given A) we are under investigation B) we have no money and C) we may be relegated and if we aren't, we are are terribly run side that's hardly going to be an attractive program l proposition to most.

James Rodriguez back on a pay-as-you-run contract.

Need another left-back and centre-back or two to replace Coady / Keane / Mina / Holgate / Godfrey.

Or just bring Branthwaite back.

Need another striker that can play up on their own too (as DCL backup).

Midfield prospect or two to replace Davies and Onana if he goes.

I see thelwell appears to have found the brands playbook of not actually doing any work outside the transfer window.

There’s free agents and soon to be out of contract players ready to move if we’re skint and shopping in Poundland, hope we are doing things now. They will blame waiting until they know what league we are in for doing nothing now - kenwright prob still interfering as well.

If we stay up or not the clubs approach has to be the same as most the clubs around us currently. We need value propositions and appreciating assets, and to invest lower sums over multiple positions even if that means rawer talents.

We cant be taking gambles on players this summer for small fees.

Thelwell needs to bring in 2 or max 3 high quality, young and top potential players. If they cost alot then make sales, work out options...etc others do it. Put everything into injecting quality and rebuilding.

Ive seen a few saying we need a new CM but do we actually need one given weve got
Doucs
Onana
Gana
Garner
Iwobi
we already have 5 (assuming we extend doucs)
Thats probably true.

We could perhaps go with Onana, Garner and Doucoure in front of them next season. Iwobi and Gana on the bench.

If would lower the need to bring in an attacking midfielder and we'd be able to focus on CF, RW, LB.

However, it sounds like Doucoure doesnt want us to trigger the one year option. More like 3 or 4 years on big money. Likewise Iwobi seems to want a high contract and has a year left.

I think if were going with this plan then best to sell Iwobi and sign someone around Onana, Garner's age to have a long term trio.

We're also just kicking a can down the road with Gana.

ST: Balogun (Arsenal, approx 25 million),

Thats seems to be a very reasonable fee. I think Arsenal will keep hold of him or ask for a lot more than that.

Thats why there needs to be a focus on only 4 positions. With CF as the priority.

We need to look at the loan market. If Forest dont take the option to buy then try and loan Lodi from Atletico or Digne from Villa for a season -- otherwise a Truffert or Parisi would be good depending on the fee.

A midfielder like the ones both of us have mentioned with even a Danilo or Lavia to compete with Onana, Garner and Gana.

The big money needs to be used on the creative midfielder, right winger, centre forward positions.

A Xavi, Simons, Mo Kudus, Brennan Johnson, Samuel Chukwueze, Alex Scott could make a huge difference to the teams attacking threat.

That and CF should be where we put the money.
