Summer transfer window 2023

I don’t even want to think about what we need to improve on in the squad over the summer. It is such a long list it is Two or three summers most likely.

RB
CB
LB
DCM
a wide midfielder
10
striker

I'd also look at Ward Prowse, Bazunu too if we sold Pickford. Think if we do in fact end up selling Onana this summer we'll probably try for JWP and 1 or 2 young lads with potential to replace him, would be decent business in my eyes.
Think alot of the younger players at Southampton Bazunu, Alcaraz, Lavia, Mara, Bella Kotchup, Larios even Livaremento......it would make sence to give them a year and not sell them on.
Bazunu looked like the PL was a bit early for him & Alcaraz & Lavia have looked good at times but inconsistant at others.
Saints need to look at the bigger picture and i think they will.
A year in the championship would help alot of these young lads

I'm correct

You're really not lol

He's 29 this year, playing a division below (for now), he will not command the massive fee Onana would.

I would be a little surprised if JWP went for much more than 50% of any Onana valuation.

Lavia + Bella-Kotchup will be off to top sides. Belgian and German full internationals...we could do worse.

Signing players from relagated teams is a large part of the reason that we find ourselves fighting relegation imo

Need:

- If Coleman retires, another RB
- a new starter LB to replace Myko. Potentially a backup LB too.
- if Mina leaves, a new starter CB. Plus potentially another CB if we can clear our holgate / Keane / Godfrey
- a goal scoring RW
- a striker to replace Maupay
Gonna be difficult to do that with a 5 year transfer embargo and a -20 point deduction next season

How so? We signed Pickford and Tarkowski from relegated teams, McNeil is also starting to look like a good buy too. If I remember correctly we also signed Jagielka after he was relegated

Don't think it should be a major deterrent - as long as the player is quality and a good fit I'm all for it, much better than signing bigger clubs cast offs/mercenaries who see us as a step down

The picking at the carcass of Southampton has started already and, not surprisingly Spurs are leading it. Ward Prowse and Bazumu the two linked today.

Guess spurs are not keen on Pickford.
