95% of posts on here today = “Selling X ( Iwobi, Gray etc.) and replacing with better will improve us” ignoring the fact that over the last two years that when we have sold a player late we have never replaced them, in that window or subsequently.

In fact we are still hoping Beto might finally be the guy to adequately replace Lukaku, sold six seasons ago when many of our fans said he was rubbish, lazy, only scores unimportant goals etc.

Now Iwobi, with his 8 assists to our next best 3 last year, is crap, only gives the ball away, never scores and will be easily replaced…

We never learn.

Agree but he has been replaced when everyone is fit what postion would iwobi start in. Out wide will be harrison and mcneil, then we could even play danjuma dacoure infront of the cf. or just go two up chimitti dcl beto, he can be replaced is players out there the club can get who could get similar numbers to both him and gray. Agree that the club do leave it far to late and dont seem to replace players but we can do it

I would not be surprised to see Iwobi leave, he is now into the last year of his contract and we want, if possible, to get some return from his sale.
We would however need another wide player to sign and that might be a problem.

Dobbin must have had about 20 goes at trying to get past Semedo and achieved it once, he is miles off atm, just lots of pace.

Iwobi is like Schrodinger's cat isn't he. According to our fan base he's either our best player or he's dead.

If he's not signing a new contract we absolutely have to sell him.

I really like Iwobi, he creates so much for the team - but we can 100% replace him.

He comes alive for 3-4 games per season.

The rest of the time he's a very expensive, wasteful passenger.

Think he did ok needs to work on his strength, could be used off the bench better when players tired.

Iwobi is an 8. Plays there for Nigeria. Was at his best for us playing there under Lampard. Our best CM3 is Garner 6 and Iwobi, Onana as twin 8s with Onana the power runner and Iwobi the creative force. IMO.

That leaves 3 from McNeil, Harrison, Danjuma, Chermiti, DCL, Beto in a front 3 (possibly with Dobbin, Cannon kept for injury cover, cup ties).

Yea Semedo schooled him a bit, and Semedo isn't known for his defensive acumen( word of the window! )
