When was the last time you were genuinely excited about an Everton signing? I can only think of two in 30 years. Lukaku and kanchelskis.

Funny how Sky and talksport never lead with that, but I guess it doesn’t make as good a statement as “half a billion spent” and battling relegation.

But it doesn’t take away from the fact we’ve spent it on absolute dross, and spend a fortune on wages

Allan, James, Sandro, Kean. I was excited about all of them when they signed.

That’s wrong. according to the transfermarket website. Obviously it’s not easy to know the exact figures. But from the Summer of 2016, we have a debt on spending of 187mil
