Everton prepared to pay maximum £12 million.

Initial bid of £7.5 million + £1.5 million in an add-on (Everton winning a major trophy) lodged with Manchester City on Tue 09 Jul.

Everton were shocked when Manchester City accepted it in principle the same day.

Fabian Delph turns 30 this November, and Brands & Silva usually do not sign age 30+ players, but Delph's versatility of being comfortable playing left-back, left-midfield and centre-midfield at a bargain price was viewed as too good to turn down.

Delph was given a tour of Goodison & visited Bramley-Moore Dock on Wed 10 Jul.

Delph had a prior family commitment on Thu 11 Jul (Manchester City had already agreed his day off), before completing the first part of his medical at Finch Farm on Fri 12 Jul.

Contract talks were also opened at Finch Farm on Fri 12 Jul.

The second and final part of Delph's medical, plus concluding contract discussions, are due to be held on Mon 15 Jul.

Delph - if all goes well - would be unveiled as an Everton signing later on Mon 15 Jul.

Immediately after the media conference, Delph would be flown to Verbier in Switzerland, to link up with rest of the squad at their hotel.

If I get any further Delph updates before the media, I will pass on...

Now I’m worried , he’s getting a tour of BMD? Must be getting a 12 year contract if they think he’s ever going to play there

Only 23 & would not cost too much....scores goals with both feet & has pace....

This window I would be delighted with Zouma, Gomes and a centre forward. Anything else would be a bonus but a right back must be on the verge to replace JJK this season.

If he favors those two and still has Rudiger and Christensen in reserve then maybe there is hope. Would really like to see Zouma back, just like the guy and think he and Keane have formed a partnership.

What's to stop us from making a deal with Palace that we'll give them Lookman for a discounted price, but only if they take Bolasie as well? Something like 22-25M combined, or whatever. We'd end up taking a loss of around 10M total from the original transfers, but if I understand book value and depreciation (which I don't) then their FFP value would be significantly lower.

I don't know if Palace would do it, but possibly. Lookman has all the potential in the world, and Bolasie would probably be willing to negotiate a little in order to get top flight minutes.

What’s to stop us? Bolasie may not be wanted back at Palace. Lookman may not want to go. Palace may not even be interested in Lookman. Plenty can stop that.

You never know,Rudiger is supposedly not fit for the start of the season,but hes been training this week,zouma is due 2nd half,chelsea should be about 5 or 6 up-keeper doing well for st Patricks,chelsea play Kawasaki Frontale in Japan Friday,and Barcelona a week Tuesday in Japan,maybe then we may see a little touch,i still think hes going to come myself-i hope
