Summer Transfer Window 2017

Jamie Weir brings us up to date with the latest Spurs transfer news, and it looks like they will try and sign Ross Barkley before the window slams shut tonight.

“I’ve just heard from a very reliable source that Tottenham are still in contact with Everton’s Ross Barkley and they may be about to make a bid and, indeed, may even have already made a bid. If they manage to snatch two players from under Chelsea’s noses, then Spurs fans will be delighted.”

I mean I'm not assed as he's wanted of but il be more assed if we sell cheap and then still don't get a striker

That's how you conduct your transfer business. You get a replacement striker in before you sell your star striker..
On the last day of the window. Plus they also sold their best player to us without a replacement...
Also, Bony for Llorente is hardly big business. Pretty sure we could get someone like that in if we actually wanted them!

While the lack of a striker is disappointing, who would you have wanted us to sign? I haven't seen anyone move that I felt we missed out on. The only top 6 quality PL strikers mentioned were Benteke and Giroud. I don't think CP would even think about selling Benteke and Giroud would have been ideal but he seems to have decided to stay at Arsenal, nothing we can do about that.

Everyone else is unproven or below the quality we need. I'd rather not get someone than bringing in someone not up to our standard just to do something.

If were going to sign from clubs smaller than us then Belotti.

You do know we can go outside of the Prem for a striker?

What a club this is. Off to a great start in the market and a failure to finish off the project. Its like decorating a house. Get it all washed up sanded and undercoated etc and then when you go to buy the gloss top coat you find out the shop is shut. All you neighbours have shopped late but bought the gloss and look like finished show houses. 7th place at best and without lukaku we will be under pressure to stay up there. Doubt me. See ye in may.

Nobody in the entire world available better than DCL. Ok.

We cant sell Barkley now. We need him to play the false 9 role in a 433

As that does seem like a joke, I actually wouldn't be opposed to trying to play him as a 9. His best attribute is shielding the ball and absorbing the pressure and settling our attack. If we don't get a striker I wouldn't be opposed to putting him up top as our outlet.
