Spot on. It would be very disappointing if we had strengthened the team to be in a position to challenge the top teams knowing a goalscorer was also a must, and then just fail to bring one in. They've had months to sort the striker situation out, i'm disappointed it's been left this late and if it doesn't get sorted at all, then we have no chance of challenging the top 6 this season.

And there is literally no excuse whatsoever for not bringing a decent striker in.

Perez loan bid is the very definition of a panic move from a club that has ran out of ideas, have no money, or both.

Any deal (bar Vlasic) done today is a panic buy

Last time we finished in the top 4 we scored fewer goals than any other team in the top 10.

And when was the last time that happened? We didn't exactly finish in the top 4 every friggin year after did we? It was a one off, a fluke.. you obviously need to score goals.

for what it's worth Perez isnt a bad striker. He's been hard done by somewhat at Arsenal but his strike rate is good and he's got pace which we are are seriously lacking. Not sure he's what we need but wouldn't be a bad signing at all.
