I would not pay Swansea anything over 35 million full stop. go else where and also make Swansea think again about holding everton to ransom

....a round-up of rumour gossip this Sunday morning;

- According to the Mirror, Everton are plotting a £30m move for Arsenal's Theo Walcott.

- The Mirror report also adds that Ronald Koeman is considering a move for Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke.

- Clubcall website claims Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is holding out for a move to Everton despite interest from Leicester. The Express says Everton will return with a £45m bid for the player.

- The same website says Spurs are hotting up their interest in Ross Barkley. Ideally they want the player to join their pre-season tour of the US which starts next week but they are still not prepared to meet Everton's valuation. Wayne Rooney has said; "with the ability Ross has got, of course we all want him to stay. He can help us get better, but the decision about his future is down to him. I'm sure he'll speak to the Manager and do what's right for him".

- A report from French news outlet RMC Sport suggests Everton have submitted a bid for FC Ingolstadt defender Marcel Tisserand. St Etienne are also looking to buy the 24 year old but the Toffee's have offered the relegated German side 3m Euros. Apparently Ingolstadt are after 8m Euros for the Congolese international who is under contract until 2020.

- 4th Official suggest Everton will complete the signing of Newcastle's 16 year old defender, Lewis Gibson, in the next few days.

- According to the Daily Mail, Everton have shown some interest this summer in £40m Leicester winger, Riyad Mahrez. However, Serie A giants AS Roma are leading the race to sign the player.

- The Express quote a post-match comment from Olivier Giroud after scoring for Arsenal against Western Sydney Wanderers. The forward was apparently asked about a move to Goodison and responded, " I told you, no questions about my future. I'm an Arsenal player for the moment and want to prepare well for the season".

Was there a plan in place for replacing Rom? With the inevitability of him moving, I'm surprised that we didn't have a list of targets that we were confident were suitable and that we could get.
And if we did, in keeping with our other transfers this window, how come nothing's happened yet, (apart from links with a couple of underwhelming players).
Maybe I'm being impatient...I wanted a marquee signing.

There isn't much difference between Lennon and Walcott IMO... all they offer that nobody else has is pace

..whilst both are quick, Lennon offers nothing like the threat Walcott does in the top third of the pitch. Walcott is an attack minded player and a good finisher. I suggest Lennon is more of a 'busy' wide man who concentrates on getting behind the ball and closing down the opposition when they are in possession. I think there's a major difference.

...I think RK will use the option of Rooney or Sandro as the most advanced striker. Saying that, I think he'd still like to bring in a 'lighthouse' type striker in the Giroud or Benteke mould with DC-L as a back up in that role.

Don't think Walcott final ball is good enough... and he injured a lot..

Walcott has another 4-5 years of paceyness up his sleave. If he is available under 30m, I don't have a problem with it. No different a risk to spending 50m on a set piece specialist. Neither will have resale value and a fit Walcott would literally complete our right side for thr next half-dozen years. Massive risk, massive reward.
