Summer Transfer Window 2017

I have no problem with Valencia staying and coming off bench. He's proven he can shake things up almost everytime he's intruduced in later stages.

As for 12m fee, like somebody else mentioned; it depends on how much we spend elsewhere.

If we ended up spending roughly what we get back for Niasse on Valencia I won't be too unhappy. It isn't like he will be the only forward player we sign this summer and with europe to cope with he will be a useful squad player and won't need to bed in which will help.

Personally i wouldn't be happy with signing Valencia at all. A striker who has a terrible scoring record for two clubs in this league and is unwanted by his current parent club.

He is in no way good enough to be playing at the level we have set ourselves at, and certainly not good enough for us to improve to compete with the teams above us next season. When you take into account who the 6 teams above us has as their back up and then look at valencia, hardly a comparison.

The point of this summer on is to improve and to be able to compete and lay a foundation for the future. Giving Valencia a contract and paying actual money for him despite him being an awful striker would be a sign of going backwards. He may have looked half decent a few times this season but is that the sign of a champions league chasing team, a few decent performances out of 20, and more so he spent a lot of time running around.

If we are replacing Niasse on similar money then replace him with a striker who can score 10 goals a season and then we can look to improve.

Does he start for Liverpool or Dortmund mate? Unless they sell does he start for Monaco (and maybe he wants to play in front of more than 15k people also)

But yeah there is a variety of reasons why we 'could' sign him ahead of any of those clubs, and bigger ones too, ofc it's all if's and but's, but a small list

He has stated he wants to play and 'ruled out' a move to an 'elite' club - name-dropped both City and United when doing that - so if that is his thinking then it rules out probably 8-10 clubs where he doesn't feel he would get the game time to develop fully.

His price is rising by the performance - meaning that the 'lesser' clubs - as in teams of the level you suggested will be more and more unwilling to pay (ofc that almost certainly applies to us as well - unless Moshiri really wants to make a statement in his spending this summer - which sadly until it happens is all hopes and dreams on our part)

We have with Stones and now Lukaku a growing reputation for bringing in a young player - giving them maximum game time and then the player subsequently moving on for a huge fee (agents will like that) and to a 'big' club - players will like that

IF - Lukaku goes, then we have a absolutely gaping hole ast centre forward so the player will realise he has a chance to come into a team that plays one up front and be the absolute main man for that team - and one who has constantly had their striker up at the top of the premier league scoring charts.

Just to note - despite banging the drum for the lad, I actually don't think we will sign him - but not because we couldn't - but because i don't think the manager would spend the money needed for a longer term player (he wants instant results), i don't think Kenwright and Elstone would be able to get a deal like this over the line - as it would involve quick negotiations and they are risk averse - no vision - no thinking about the future with those two, just counting the pennies - and you don't sign one of the hottest prospects in world footy by trying to haggle down a team like Ajax over a month of negotiating (for example).

Effectively the Chairman and CEO of our club are very much 7th place - best of the rest is a great achievement people, the manager i think wants a year or two of performing 'above' expectations and then he wants a job which is less a project, and the owner in Moshiri talks a very good talk but as of yet their is no actual proof on the playing side that things are substantially different (and until he changes the people who negotiate the deals their wont be)

Personally i'd hope Walsh is now in charge of negotiating and not just a glorified chief scout.

Calls up Ajax and says 35mil....if they say no 40mil.

Get the boy signed and sealed.

No link for this but been told we're after two feyenoord defenders. Don't know their names, but been told they're "young fellas" and one of them has a brother at Man City and we tried to sign him before. Apologies for the obscurity, but that's the extent of my knowledge.

Valencia.....

We have Calvert-Lewin + Lookman who we should be playing ahead of him....not to mention the new contract man himself, Kevin Mirallas.

As for signing a right back to play in Europa against dross sides, just play Kenny/Holgate.

No need to waste money like this.

If we sell Kone, Niasse and potentially Lukaku guess what? Everton would have no recognised strikers in the squad.

If any of you thinking going all footy manager and signing 3-5 strikers, let alone other positions which need strengthening, then you are crazy!

Valencia is a must for the squad. And that's it, the squad. He won't be our out and out striker but he's always changed games with his energy, and clearly gets on with the team too which is good for morale. He would be one of a few strikers in the team and with up to 2-3 games per week we will need him, simple as that.

We aren't a top 4 side yet, and no a current top 4 side won't be looking to buy him, but we can't exactly compete in the same way for players even despite money.

Feyenoord defender Terence Kongolo has a younger brother at Man City so could be him. Can play CB and LB and is 6ft2 - so makes sense for our team. Fast and athletic too - cant see it happening though to be honest as he signed a contract extension last week for another year up until 2019.

We 100% need a right back AND a left back.

Holgate is a cb. We haven't seen enough of Kenny yet really. Coleman may not come back the same. Or any of them could get injured.
