Summer Transfer Window 2017

Question for me becomes - are we financially in a position to strengthen the team to the extent we can get the best out of both Lukaku and Barkley, both require a level of player around them to do so, IF we aren't able to do so, then ultimately we could be better building a team without them, maybe that view is becoming more coloured by the fact that neither player is showing any signs that they see their future at the club, and after a whilst it starts to grate.

The only point in keeping Lukaku is if we are going to go out their and strengthen the team significantly - bringing in players who actually can compliment his game - and that's gonna cost a whole lot of money.

My fear is that we spend this summer rebuilding the defence/keeper positions, and think that keeping Lukaku and shoring up the defence will be enough to get the extra points for 4th (it won't) - and the only offensive player of significance we add will be someone like Sigurdsson - who whilst better than what we have - is probably not as good as is needed (take his set pieces out and he's arguably inferior to what we already have with Barkley).

IF we can't afford to fix the defence and seriously improve the attack this summer - then maybe deciding to cash in on Lukaku and throwing all that into 3-4 younger players with huge potential and supplementing it with the likes of Rooney short term may be a better way forward...

After yesterday's performance I've no problem selling Barclay and Lukaku IF the price is right i.e. 130 m for both
Add 60/70 for outgoings and 100m transfer budget and potentially we could get
Pickford 20 m
Keane 30 m
Koubailly /VVD50m
Siggy. 30 m
Dolberg. 30m
Tielemans 30m
Bernardi 40 m
Dembele 30m
Klassen. 30m
Add Rooney on a free and Matbe Soares or Tierney and we would be fine
After yesterday it's time for a radical overhaul

Looks a good player, but not a replacement for Lukaku, Sandro is 5"9", fast, likes to come deep or go wide, bring the midfielders into the play or on the shoulder of the last defender, hitting teams on the break. More of a "Jamie Vardy" than Lukaku type player. That might be how we play next year, or we may just need this guy, plus one or two more, different type forwards

Correct basically he'll be what Perez would have been for us this season had he joined. It's clear Koeman wants to go 4-3-3 next season imo. If we sign this lad you can bet your life we'll go for a creative Tadic type player out wide on the opposite flank. Siggurdsson/Klassen/Ziyech of that ilk.

We just need to get deals done quick. We HAVE to remove Kenwright from transfer negotiations, The bloke is hanging around like a bad smell and definitely has played a part in our haggling over deals the past 2 transfer windows. It's all well and good doing that over young players signing but when you have these types of players who have multiple clubs interested you need to just pay the cash and get them signed ASAP before the vultures offering CL football circle.

300m?

We won't spend a third of that.

jesus christ

As a Málaga fan, I've watched Sandro all year.

He's definitely a step up from anything else we have because well, Malaga are dire. However, everyone seems in agreement in Spain that letting Sandro leave Barca on a free transfer, in order to sign Paco Alcerer was madness. Sandro has scored a bag full in a team which makes Barry look good.

€6m? Sign him up, what risk is it?

You can't change that many players at once mate just simply won't work.

Besides where is the other 60 mill in outgoings coming from? Don't think we will spend 300 mill even if we got what you said above.

Not many players would want to join a team that looks so unstable if that many players were coming & going.

He's a huge fan and does know his stuff/has a few connections, but whether his info is 100% reliable...

He wasn't really claiming anything groundbreaking. Just saying the noises were coming from Ajax that they would only let the lad go for a huge fee.

Think a lot depends on what happens with Rom and when it does, as to what our targets will be. Who knows atm whether are targets are built around providing service/support to Rom, or that we're aiming to replace him outright?

Huge fans talking about their own team and what they will do in regards to selling players would for me have to be tinged with maybe what his hopes are rather than what the board will do though.

In reality we should be aiming for building an attack not reliant on lukaku, and certainly not buying players just to suit him, because frankly this Sumner or next he will be gone, and we are then left with a team built around a player we don't have.

As for Ajax players, I would hope Koeman would be a huge positive in striking any deals.

It's only a 100 m net spend and to be honest I'm blowing off steam after that performance yesterday
Urine poor .
No heart no passion no energy at all in the first half.
Kenny coming on the only plus
I'd get rid of 5/6 of the starters yesterday given the choice
