Summer Transfer Window 2017

He has himself said moving to the biggest teams now would be bad for him. I think we'd be looking at teams like Dortmund, Spurs etc. as rivals.

Aye read that interview with him, hopefully we take the hint and don't dally around - as @Eggs said earlier, just go in right now with an offer that Ajax won't be able to refuse - even if it's paying 40-50% over what they kind of set his price at, that alone will scare off a lot of the teams who'd consider matching his valuation come the summer.

IF we are willing to shell out 22-24m on Bolasie, or 25-30m on Sigurddson then this lads worth every penny

Koeman has already said he wants to bring in players in the 26-29 category as that's what will benefit the team the most atm.

Just saying, don't expect us to be signing loads of young 'gems'.

Unfortunately we don't have a history of ever doing this haha.

His first touch is amazing. Reminds me of Bergkamp.

Looks to concede a lot of fouls in the danger area by being "annoying" to defenders.

Perfect for Sigurdsson to nick one every now and then. Get him in. 30 mil on the spot, no bullcrap

We need players for the here and now with a couple in for the future.

We are in a good position to sign players like Dolberg. In a peculiar way 7th place this season helps us.

As Dolberg's own comments suggest, players at the level of development he is at are looking for a new challenge but also game time. All players have their ambitions, even our manager.

If they can help us progress to the elite then it's a win win. Then you're in a better position to keep your players for longer. Had we pushed on after signing Lukaku he would have given us more time. It's the reason we shouldn't expect big money signings flowing just yet. That's not a reason to be disappointed though

Yet the signing that looks very like happening is going to be a 23yo keeper mate, which kind of casts doubt on the veracity of what he stated - he also on embargo stuff apparently stated that Walsh and him both have their own agendas on what type of player (age etc) and that Walsh focus is on the 'future' of the team, which instantly opens up the possibility of player out of that 26-29 age bracket.

Reading between the lines - i think Koeman is sending out a 'get me my priority' targets to the board again - maybe VVD or the like

If Dolberg for example is available (which all Ajax players are in reality) for 20-30m and Koeman isn't interested because he's too young, then it's a massive flaw in him as a manager, look past the age and see the player and what he can offer regardless of age.

In short - we don't need to sign loads of young gems, we just need to ensure we sign the bets of them that are available

Sorry that's far too much common sense for this thread mate

I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave

...his back to goal technique is really good, love how he keeps the defender off with one arm in very much the same manner as Ibrahimovic. All natural shielding ability is that. When the ball is in front of him he really does have a look of a Torres about him. I appreciate the standard is poor but he would certainly compensate Lukaku leaving.
He reminded me of Suarez. They move very differently it's more in respect of the economy of his touch & then change of direction.
The brief times I've seen him I completely agree he is fantastic with his back to goal & his touch always seems To take him away from the defender but somehow in readiness for the quickest route to goal

I don't think there will be any disagreement between Walsh and koeman over Pickford, just because he is only 23. Can't think of many other keepers we could realistically get between the ages of 26-29 with the same potential as Pickford. Dare I say it sigurdsson, Rooney and Soares will be sought to bring the experience and 'finished article' koeman wants. It will be interesting if koeman though will really want an untried dolberg to lead the line to replace lukaku. Saying that Rooney and siguardsdon would add much needed experience to support him.
