Oh god no. I'd probably rather have Mirallas too.

Ideally someone better than both.
On Pickford, he's a good keeper, could be a great keeper. Pre injury Butland would have been my choice but he's been out a long time and there's no telling what they'll do to him. Think Harts past it, Foster at times has the reflexes of Herman Munster and i can't get excited about the likes of Hennesy or Heaton so demestically Pickford is probably the right choice. Just a bit underwhelming

Yeah I feel underwhelmed too. Not sure why really. Pickford is very highly rated but i'm just not 100% yet.

Butland would be the one. Yeah there's the injury thing, but he could also come back from it and have literally no reprocussions at all. This could even be a good time to get him if Stoke are a bit unsure.

Anyway. At least it's not Begovic.

I see your Begovic and i raise you an Adrian

Honestly only seen Pickford play once and that was against us not long back - his first game back after injury.

Did look a little shaky and failed to convince, however, that said he was just back after injury. Although a lot of people seem to be saying good things about him and he is still very young. Lots of time to develop and no doubt better than the current two.

Do you mean in general or specifically for a GK? I can understand the argument for an experienced keeper as they tend to hit their peak later than players in other positions but we need players in so many positions that, for me at least, a mixture of top class signings and promising youngsters seems like a sensible strategy. I quite like the look of Pickford but it is a risk. If that risk pays off though then you have a stable number one for 10 years.
I think the Dutchman has stated he will be targeting players of 26/27/28 which is probably code for top quality. Let's see if he gets them.

lol

This reminds me of when Ian St John hated Houllier so much, he couldn't bring himself to say his name, instead referring to him as "The Frenchman".

How apt

Leno is a FAR better keeper for roughly the same money and same age. Don't understand the 'they play in England so that's what we want!' mentality here. Keeper has to be one of the easiest transitions between leagues for any position on the pitch.
I think Leno likes where he is at though, I have heard nothing really about him moving. Don't get me wrong I would loooove to have him here with us.
