I'd be absolutely delighted if we got Pickford in, over the moon. If it's anywhere under 20m it'd a bloody steal imo.

Sunderland fans aren't stupid, they know when they have a decent player on their hands and to a man, woman and child I'd say they would all heap praise on him. He's young with tremendous potential to be one of the very best.

On the youth team thread before Pickford had even made his debut someone was already posting about him and saying this kid would be the real deal and anyone who follows that thread would have started to keep an eye out for him ( well I certainly did ). Some of the saves he makes are very Southall esque imo and if he ends up half as good as him then it will be the best money we've spent on a keeper in a long long time

If it wasn't for the injury, 100% agree, but that's a huge gamble if it's left any lasting problems.

I'm judging it all on him looking boss in his last 2 games.

If you want to progress you make giant strides in your signing policy. This lad isn't it. I;d rather have Wayne Hennessey or someone, and he';s bang average too.

It actually is, he hit a couple of laser passes against us. Has great technique with his volleys especially.

Brothers missuses family are all Sunderland fans, they REALLY rate the lad and they watch him week in week out, generally good way to analyse a player your unsure of is how gutted there own fans are to lose them.

If he was 1-2 years more experienced, he'd be the perfect keeper for guardiola.

I think he's a million miles better already than what we have now plus with room for improvement.

Our bar is set so low with the likes of Stekkers and Robles ( I like Robles btw, just not good enough for a team needing to break the top 4/5 ) that it really isn't that hard to find keepers better. Pickford would instantly improve us imo and even though he may make the odd mistake along the way like all keepers do, I think he will more than make up for it and win us a lot more points than lose them for us.

Clearly he isn't much better than what we have but he can improve to be a lot better. I guess that is what the powers that be need to decide upon, someone like Hart who isn't going to improve but we know his level or a punt on a younger keeper who may end up better.

In a couple of years Pickford could be a bargain or another Richard Wright. Not going to guess which way it will go though.

Pickford looks to me like one of those GKs that have a purple patch at a club in trouble and needing to make all kinds of saves, some of which come off and they're the hero for a couple of games. But put them in a team that expects clean sheets and the situation changes for them.

I'd only go for a GK at a team that's been doing very well.

Superb keeper Butland, looks like an Everton keeper in the Nigel Martyn mould. I've just got a feeling Stoke wouldn't sell and he wouldn't rock the boat this summer as he's been out for so long injured and they've put him right back in. May be wrong and it's just my opinion, I've just never thought he has come across as the typical tit of a footballer who has no loyalty to a club and only to his bank balance.

He's not a great keeper at all, and people think he's a born leader because he shouts a lot to copy his dad.
