Summer Transfer Window 2017

I'm glad Koeman is here because he'll be making choices without sentiment. We need to sweep the decks, a lot of these players have failed so many times yet we seem to quite like them still. We need a whole sea change and hopefully Koeman is ruthless in shipping these failures out and bringing in players who actually go into big games, cup games, heck, even away games, looking to win rather than just get the loss over with as quickly as possible.

Of out current squad I'd only have
Coleman Baines Schnederlin Gana Davies ROSS and Rom as first eleven
So at least 4 starters to come in possibly 5/6 as I don't think Davies can be expected to start every game at 18 yrs old.
Lookman , Holgate DCL and one or two others I'd keep , the rest I'd flog
Mediocrity or good enough won't suffice any more.
Time to keep the promises you made to Koeman and the fans Moshiri and splash the cash

I can't see Jags Williams Barry going anywhere.
Those that will bring in a fee that RK feels he can do without will go
In my opinion that's.
Cleverly 8m, Naisse , 12 m Geri 12m,McCarthy 20M,Mori 15m Lennon 5/6 Kone (out of contract )Robles 10m McGeady €1
McAleny ,Browning ,Rodriguez and a couple of other U23 should bring it up to 80 m or so.
If he can I'd say RKwill drastically overhaul the squad
Agree with all of this apart from Mori and Robles really.

Koeman stated he wanted 3 keepers, now I can't imagine we will be signing another two in the coming window if robles was sold. Agree with @Stuartisitc1878 that he should probably want to be playing all the time, but if he is happy to be a bit part player then I feel we could do worse as a no2 keeper.

Mori, whilst obviously not being the perfect defender, is left footed and something we lack in the squad in general. Even if we sign two defenders and got rid of jags, we'd have only 4 senior centre backs in the team (ok there is youngsters too) to compete for 2 even 3 positions per game, and we could be playing a hell of a lot next season.

Injuries can really hurt a squad, let alone just a decent first 11... everton must be prepared

What I mean BT is that combined with the last window that's an awful lot of players out. Barry Deulofeu to potentially add to that list. Given Bolasie and Colemans injuries we will have a tiny squad next season. So whilst I'm glad there's talk of 50 mill bids for CBs we need a squad with enough bodies for 4 comps. I always prefer quality over quantity but we're looking at a lot of incomings needed unless we supplement a few star names with the kids.
As another poster said it's time to clear the decks

I think we all agree we need two CB ( just hope Koeman does too )
So with 2 new CB Williams and Jags plus Holgate (Temp RB) Galloway Pennington
we wouldn't need Mori and he will raise the most money.
As it stands I'd say Williams / Jags is the preferred pairing

See where you're coming from but I think a left footed cb is required and I doubt we will sign two left footed ones to replace mori.

I quite like mori though, think he's alright so I'm being biased. He would deffo be a squad player mind behind our shiny two new centrebacks

I think we will deffo be seeing the back of - Jags, McCarthy, Barry, Valencia, Kone (obviously), Niasse, McAleny, Deulofeu, one of Stek or Robles, McGeady and Lennon.

That's not even taking into account the uncertainty over Lukaku,Mirallas and Barkley.

That's possibly 14 players going out - we say it every summer, but it's an absolutely huge summer ahead of player recruitment needed.
Never going to happen.

The manager has already had his clearout and gotten rid of most of the players he didn't want.
Kone will leave at the end of the season as his contract is up, but players like Barry and Jags I feel will be kept as part of the squad for another season. Mirallas and Funes Mori will probably not be happy as squad players and substantial offers could see them sold or see them forcing a move away...maybe.
The manager will try to keep most of what is already at the club and add to it. The last thing he wants is to have to bring in seven or eight new players and to build a new team from scratch

It's nice to have a reasonable conversation about our hopes for the transfer window without people going all FIFA 17 on it.
The only problem is no one here knows how much we have to spend
It would be nice if for the first time in 50 yrs supporting Everton the board /owners fulfilled our transfer expections and spent 100 million net.
We are not that far off the top 4 and if we keep ROSS and Rom I feel it's within touching distance.

Jagielka and Barry won't be going. Kone, Niasse, McAleny, Deulofeu, McGeady and Lennon have made one first team appearance for Everton between them since Jan, I think we'll be OK if they leave...

Mirallas has just had a kid and I'm sure he said he wants to stay here and get a new contract? Can't see him leaving myself, when it's likely lennon and del will already

Who is buying these players?

Robles 10 million?
McCarthy 20? (After his latest injuries, no club is risking that on him)
Lennon 6mill? (Wrong side of 30, has barely kicked a ball in a year)
Mori 15 million? Rank average Prem defender.

Nobody is paying money for the likes of Rodriguez either.

David Ngog Brad Smith and Jordan Ibe went for a combined 25 million. There's hope for everyone.

Robles is a decent bottom half of the premiership / championship keeper.
Newcastle bid 20 million for MCCarthy and now they are promoted they will need proven premiership players.
The like of Brighton and whoever goes up with them or a top half championship side would take Lennon for his experience in my opinion
Mori would be snapped up at 15 m
Argentinian CB regular caps left footed , either here or Europe will snap him up.
But time will tell

Even if we got rid of Delboy, mcgeady, niasse, kone, cleverly etc and replaced them with the 11 or so kids that won the PL2, I would still believe we are better off. None of those mentioned have played or have a part to play. We will finish the window stronger, depending on replacements for Romelu.
