Summer Transfer Window 2017

I say start a bidding war for Lukaku and hope for 80-90m, then throw 40m at Palace for Benteke and use the rest on a top goalkeeper, two centre backs and a second striker.

signing someone like that means we would have to completely change the team and style of play. he failed at liverpool cos they never played to his strenghts.

I do think there will be some insane moves this summer. Possibly bigger than Pogba and the like.

Which is where players like Ramsey are interesting. The usual big boys could be bringing in all sorts of names, if rumours are to be believed (so probably not!), so maybe players like Ramsey could be up for grabs?

Or not. I have no idea really.

I think City, United, Arsenal and Chelsea will each make one 'BIG' signing mate

City - well because they are City and they can do, United because much like with Pogba - they need to do so to keep their name relevant as a major player still (especially if no CL footy for them), Chelsea - because they will lose Drogba to China and they will just reinvest that ridiculous fee and Arsenal in order to try get the fans off Wengers back at least initially and to cover them for ,losing Sanchez.

But City aside, think after that one big purchase the rest will be made up predominantly from players in being largely covered by player sales.

But look at each of those teams now and Chelsea alone need to spend a large amount just to bulk out the squad - never mind improving the first team - otherwise they will struggle hugely next season with CL, City need new fullbacks and a new central midfield due to those players ageing badly, not counting the Aguero weird situation, the keeper situation and the centre back problems. united now not only need that new number 9 but will need a new number ten as well, before getting into other problems they have like Carrick being past it and them only having one quality centre back, and Arsenal just look in a total mess with their two best players looking like wanting to leave - before you even address the huge problems they already have in some positions.

Players like Ramsay I'd have in a heartbeat, a bit like Schneiderlin, he's quality but is either not played or played out of position too often, we should target anyone of that ilk who is deemed surplus at a team whod rather spunk 50m on the latest flavour of the month from abroad.

????? (Costa?)

I think I mean that we see names like Maguire linked. I'm not sure if i'd rather have an Ake over that type. Someone who doesn't get a game at a good team. Rather than someone who players regularly for a crap one.

Aye meant Costa mate :)

Just have to judge the player and try ignore everything else really.

Look at the players who kept Schneiderlin out the United side, if judging on that alone then you wouldn't have gone near Schneiderlin for example

The ones i don't want to see are the journeyman types coming in just to bulk out a squad without the quality needed.

Young potential players or proven quality ones who are for whatever reason available and gettable.

As for the likes of Maguire, Gibson and Keane, i think they are much of a muchness, only one of them has much bigger reputation as he came up through the Man United academy, it has definitely inflated his status and hype.

Can't see Bayern or Dortmund letting him leave Germany.....if they think he is going they will buy even if it means stashing him on the bench.
Not sure Dortmund could do anything financially but Bayern definitely, they could well need a player of his ilk with talk of Lewandowski of to Madrid and Robben and Ribery not getting any younger. That Kingsley Coman is only on loan and back to Juve at end of season too, lots of Premier League interest in him. They could be after him certainly.

Where do they play, would they fit in to our squad? Who would they be replacing?

Seri is central midfield and good going forward and defending, a real box to box player. If you want him to sit and protect midfield, he can do this very well. If you want him to attack, he can do this too. If we had him with Schneiderlin and Gueye, I think it would be very strong midfield.

Cyprien is an attacking midfielder, who can play on the wing, but is best central, in my opinion, a bit like Barkley, Coutinho, Eriksen. Plea is a winger, but has become a very good striker. He usually plays wide when Balotelli plays, but I think he is best as the striker.

I would not sign all three together, because I think it would make us imbalanced, but definitely three very talented individuals.

Koeman has already said that wont happen bud.

Think he said along the lines it is hard to keep a squad of the older players happy, whereas if the kids bulk out the squad it is much easier

Can't say I'm sold on Maguire, think he'd be a good mid-table player. Think Keane and Gibson have the talent to play at the top, and have really brought something to their teams this year.
If you look at the goals conceded for each respective team you can see the influences they have on their teams:
Everton 37
Burnley 49
Hull 67
Boro 43

If Maguire was so good you would expect that Hull would have conceded a lot less. I appreciate he may be good with the ball at his feet but as we know with John Stones, first and foremost you need to be able to defend.

For that reason I think Gibson and Keane are better shouts and as you mentioned Keane's price seems massively inflated, and with Boro going down Gibson should be available at a reasonable price.

Thanks for the info, think they are a team definitely worth taking a look at
