My guess is the Mail have drawn our Deeney interest by connecting dots between Walsh and Leicesters reported interest last season and thrown Everton in to draw some extra eyes

I think 'journalism' is an obsolete profession with the hysteria of the internet. Check back in two weeks and see if there are any photos of new blokes in blue shirts. Otherwise its just timewasting.
I work in the media, and it isn't completely obsolete just yet.
But people just have to learn that a lot of the stuff generated for huge sites (i.e. the Mail) is based on clicks and SEO etc.
And, as always, just don't take everything that's written down as the truth - like you say.
