£20m in this market is good value. If that's true, whether Rom leaves or not, we should be all over that.

Pep Guardiola was not prepared to give any assurances about Kelechi Iheanacho's future at Manchester City.

Asked about his game time this season and if he had a future at the club, Guardiola replied: "Kelechi is a young player who is clever in the box, he is strong, fast and has a sense of goal.

"He is not playing more or less because of my decision, and everybody can discuss about that.

"Like I said before to your colleague, at the end of the season we will talk about Kelechi and individual players."

Think Pep rates Jesus more than him
Sure, I get that, but even City have to play cup games and prepare for injuries. At the very least, you've got to hang on to a young player who in only 5 starts last year scored 4 goals and had 3 assists. 550 minutes and 7 goals or assists. If he had just a few more games he would have been 2nd on the team in goals.

And that's their loss, and could be our gain. I'd very much welcome that.

“I’m not sure that was the case for every single one out there so that’s perhaps something we need to address.”

The key will be our ability to convince players of the ilk of Sandro, Klaassen and Keane (and dare i say Ross) that they are better off coming to be a first XI player for a Europa squad then they would be being a squad player on a Champions League team.

A player his age, especially with the quality he has, needs to be playing. City play with 1 upfront and that will probably be Jesus next year, with Aguero as backup. Even if they rotate I cant see either being dropped for Iheanacho. So he will be back to starting 5-6 games with the odd 15 minute cameo when City need goals.

I'd love him here but I wouldnt have thought it was possible up to now.
