Agreed and to a certain extent that's what we have done with Lukaku coming to us as he wasn't getting games and more recently Morgan's Schneiderlin.

The only thing is eventually (In Lukakus case) they will be ready for elite teams and want to leave.....Is it right we pitch that idea to these players but then hound them when they want to leave or are we happy doing that for now?

and both those instances wasn't so much a far sighted policy by the club or a strategy but rather a manager pushing masively to get that one transfer they wanted over the line, and both resulted in a dramatic lack of other business

As for them leaving when they reach that next level - get to 23-25 or whatever mate, thats just footy these days, what you hope for is that eventually the club reaches the level that the player can reach those goals with them at leats for a year or two longer. Basically where spurs are at now

But thanks to you, I am seeing possibilities of a new workhorse / grafter / scapegoat joining and I am happy

Tielemans going for 21m with the hype around him, if we pay 25m for Klassen - good player though he is - then were paying way over the odds for what it takes to get a player from the Dutch league - maybe thats gonna be a symptom of the TV cash now though, when Palace can spend 32m on a striker etc

Thoughts on going in for Kierran Gibbs if that Kolasanic signs with Arsenal? Good experienced left back to rotate with baines and would seemingly have no place at arsenal.

I have not seen him but he sounds like a Dirk Kuyt type of player to me.

I just hope with the money we spent getting Walsh in plus Koeman's knowledge and network in Europe, they must have a plan a, b & c.
Even if Moshiri sees us only as an investment he knows the big money is in the CL.
Considering the players to leave and the wages they are on plus selling some of the current squad, we must be spending well this summer. (Or Davek is a prophet)
I am interested to see how many of the team that finished last Friday will be in the team first Prem game next season. Seems like an idea for a thread but CBA.
