Summer Transfer Window 2017

Seriously though am not too sure how we will approach this window but the whole idea of just buying all inferiors teams better players will not work on it's own.

van Dijk is already proven in the Premier League, has worked with Koeman before and as you said would be a statement because of his profile.

Van Dijk & Schneiderlin would be the start of a very strong spine for the team.

I look at Spurs and there goalie, 2 centre backs, 2 centre mids are a really good spine, probably the best in the league

..I think the January window was an indication that we'd done some leg work in advance, I would hope we've already been in discussions with clubs and players agents. My hope is that we know where we are with key targets and bring one or two in early.

Much depends on outgoings. Regardless of the Lukaku contract discussion, I think it's likely we will keep him for another season unless a club meet our very high valuation. I'm not convinced RK is totally concerned about Barkley.

If we signed van Dijk while retaining Rom as well, which is of course a big if, then we'd only need a top keeper to have a very strong spine.

Once that is in position then arguably you only have to focus on improving the secondary positions and adding depth. Lots of ifs and buts though!

In my football manger world (where FFP doesn't exist), i'd go for...

Hart
Keane
Luke Shaw
Manolas (Show of intent)
Sigurdsson
Mahrez
Lacazette (Big name signing)

Exactly the point I've been trying to make when there were a few on here last night saying it's all about winning more games and therefore attacking players are more of a priority!

You don't win anything without a good spine & that starts with GK, CB

The Lukaku/Barkley situations are already ready well known and established...... just not by the fans or it appears the supposed itks.

Koeman and Walsh know exactly which players they need to sign and how many, the budget will have been decided a long time ago.
I would say that deals in and out are already agreed and I think Rooney is one of those.
I think Lukaku is staying for one more year , contract or no contract.
I think Barkley may well be sold as RK has never given any inkling that a deal could be anywhere near.

Hart and Mahrez are hugely overrated imho. Mahrez looks a one season wonder, whereas Hart surely is no better than Joel.

The rest through I'd be very happy with.
