I'd like to see us sound out Arsenal for Walcott. Pace to burn, knows where the net is and doesn't appear to be in their starting 11.

Who cares? As has been pointed out countless times, net spend is a completely meaningless and irrelevant metric.

Just a couple of pages ago it was pointed out that we sold Stones for £49m and signed Keane (£24m) and Williams (£11m) to fill the hole at CB. That's a NEGATIVE net spend of £13m and a HUGE improvement to the position.
