Are we struggling to have a go at Moyes today chaps or what?
Nah, I'm praising him for getting the tactics right and the team put in a great performance.
It's one of those things that plague this board though - "short sightedness". All Dan is pointing out is that Moyes is constantly worrying about what can happen to us rather than wondering what we can do to the opposition in regards to his subs.
As I say, reactive not proactive. It's cost us games this season, albeit not today.

He done it at Stoke as well.
Losing 2-0. Beckford was held back for the next stoppage in play rather than being brought off when Stoke replaced Etherington.
At West Ham, he brings on Beckford in the 90+ minute and brings on Bily separately seconds later.
Against Wigan at home, he held back Anichebe when they made a sub.
At Sunderland, he brought on Yak late on, and then in the next break in play he brought on Beckford...

It's an observation, one I've been meaning to make for a long time but couldn't be bothered thinking about how to describe it.
I'm genuinely curious as to why he holds back substitutions repeatedly.
If I wanted to criticise the manager, I'd do so outright.

Is it something to do with time added on mate?
if 2 players come on at the same time, one for each team, does the ref only add on 1 minute?
Whereas if just 1 player comes on, then at the next stoppage another player comes on, he might add on 2minutes??
Moyes likes us pressing hard in injury time, look what happened when we played United.

WE should've capitalised on the pressure we gave them in the 2nd half and got done on a sucker punch counter.
Same as usual this season then.
Beckford couldve came on sooner especially on the back of the amount of corners we had in the 2nd half...needed a finisher.
Not too fussed. Moyes planned and read the game well which he hasnt done too much this season and its a boost for the Arsenal game.
I think we should be concentrating on the league than the cup to honest.

Oh geez, I agree with Chico ENTIRELY.
Seriously Everton fans, we looked surprisingly good today. Moyes fielded a good team that was ready to play. Felliani, Baines, and Coleman were GREAT, ARTETA SHOWED UP, the D was solid.
Are we really criticizing Moyes for putting a sub on ONE MINUTE after Mikel? (I agree that he was looking to see if formations changed)
I'm not happy with a tie. I hate that we gave up that goal, but today was one of the most enjoyable games of football I've seen everton play this year.

I don't think he's the only manager who subs a player and then a minute later subs someone else, I can't recall anything in particular but I'm 100% sure I've seen other teams do it.
If the other team is about to make the sub, why not wait the 10 seconds to see their shape? I think every manager should do that, the information you can gather in that 10 seconds can be used to make a wiser decision - if it's very late on in the game and you're desparate to get that player on, then maybe don't wait too long, but I think it's a more well-informed decision to make if you see that happening. I wouldn't want Moyes to only make his decision based on that, but I'm sure he doesn't.

I think its more of a case of actually killing the game off when we had the upper hand.
By the 70th minute we'd been camped out in their half for the 2nd half and had 11 corners. If a change was made then to attack more and kill it, we could've been 2-0 up before Kalou scored with his 1st touch of the match in the 75th.
Minus not finishing chances in games, we've never gone for the throat when we could have which is why some seem a little miffed today.
We did play excellently though. But we do against big teams and not against lower ones
