Stubbs eager to go into managing

Having chatted with Alan over this entire subject I can confirm he has always held the ambition to go into management when he retires and a bloody good one he will make because he is honest a straight to the point. It is a pity that the club couldn't have been that way with him when he left. For those of you who say that he turned his back on the club, bollocks, the club turned their back on him. His only problem was he had contacted cancer and the club wouldn't argue with their insurers for him, they treated him dreadfully. Stubbsy is as big a blue as you could find and it showed when he came back, it was the club that changed its mind. That lad has served us unstintingly since his return and for anyone to come out crap about him as I have read in some threads above makes my blood boil, Stubbsy remains my mate.

the club themselves werent out of order, it was the rules regarding health and previous illness that the insurers require that was the issue, i dont know how it was concluded, what i will say is that i fully understand stubbs position but i disagree with the manner in which he aired this dirty laundry in the press.

it could be said that his then parting ways with the club he loved made him emotional and hurt, that said, why then harm the reputation of the club like he did.

dont know what he said about sunderland, never heard any comments about bolton and celtic, so its not like theres 'form'.

Sorry Suits but you are wrong, Sunderland got cover, Celtic got cover as we did when he arrived, we baulked at the increased premium which was pathetic. If you feel you've been kicked in the teeth, which he certainly was, then you would kick out. The entire problem was started by Wyness, fact, it was paid on his return and thank God he did return.

He's been a good signing for us, that's all i care about.

I remember him telling me how gutted he was that the club never came for him when he went to Celtic, he'd have walked on broken glass to have become a blue player then but we were still penny pinching at the time. If I remember right we'd have got him for an additional £250,000. His wife never settled in Scotland so he spent most of his time comuting weekly to Glasgow. Alan is a truly smashing bloke, another Labby in the making imo yet someone posts crap like that about him makes me.........I'm going for a lie down.

Stubbs is a legend.

And I got his autograph many times. He's a great bloke and a great servant to our club. True blue

Calm down a forum is to voice your opinions, Like i've said dont get me wrong hes a smashing bloke, Im sure his problems with the club could have been dealt with in a better way but personally as a fan i didnt like what he did, nor did i when like it when it came to the Rooney transfer, i saw him as a player who was getting guided in the wrong way (stretford) to get involved in the transfer.

well i think stubbs would be a great manager... with him being injured now its a great chance for him to step back from the game and work with the younger group... he ant getting any younger and all the players respect him so why not put him in the coaching staff
